I think it is time for a coda onto my previous statement on who would win;

It would depend on who the the captain of the Enterprise.

If you had a can'do, willing to take risks Bush type leader - like Kirk. Then yes the Enterprise would win. Kirk would just beam into the Emperor's throne room and punch the Emperor out.

If you had a logic based multilateralists who doesn't believe in Federation values, an Obama type leader - like Spock then the Death Star would win. Spock would still be debating his coarse while the Emperor was building WMDs and using bounty hunters to plant them in Federation cities.

Death Star verses Battle Star Galatica. Starbuck would shoot a missile down that exhaust port without bothering with a trench run. Even if that didn't happen the Death Star's crew would be facing a slow death from radiation poisoning from the Galatica's nukes (read about nukes is space)

Death Star verse the USS Enterprise CV6. What you think some cheep special effects and hooky martial arts are going to stop the Big E when the entire Imperial Japanese Navy couldn't during WWII? The Enterprise's Wildcat's do a Thach weave on the T-Fighters sweeping them from the sky, the Devastators distracts the Death Stars point defense guns and McClusky's Dauntless divebombers come out of the sun to put a 500lbers down the exhaust port to scratch another meat ball.
