Hello! My name is Marcus. I am a 33 year old man, resided in the northern parts of Sweden. I recently came across this forum, and as a strong believer, I decided to register.

Some of you may have noticed me posting a bit in the introductionary forum - where I have reading and replying to a couple of threads.

I'm a married man with 5 children - 4 sons and 1 daughter, in the ages 1, 3, 5, 8 and 13.

You may at times find me a bit contradictive - and admittedly, there are few (very few) parts of the Lords writing that I do not agree with. I always try to adhere to all of them, however, with the very exception of hitting my children. I raise them so that there is no need for them to be hit - they know to obey and how to act.

So - to continue - my favorite verse in the bible is:

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38, 39

I know in my heart that you are right, and that I should follow the words of the Lord - but it goes against how I was raised to act certain ways towards my own flesh and blood. My children are well raised, Christian children whom I am proud of - I am however afraid that hitting them will break our bond. It should also be mentioned that such behaviour is illegal where I reside - and whilst I will always treasure the Holy Scripture higher, the punishments for such acts are very, very harsh.

They don't have police inside your home, do they?

My friend, by not disciplining your children the way God intends, you actually hate them, as He tells us.

Proverbs 13:24 " He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes."

Besides you aren't really hurting the child anyway.

Proverbs 23:13-14 "Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.

Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell."

And I'm certain you don't want the children to burn in the sulphurous fires of Hell for all eternity?

I know you are right - yet as you may understand, it will be a tough transition for me. I will try to correct my ways according to the Lords Holy Scripture.

Friend, I have had a lot of children. If I hit one, the rest feel left out. They think I do not care. Physical contact between a father and his children is very important.
God touches many of us in our daily life. Do you think God should stop? Do you think He should should just sit on His throne in Heaven and look down at us, never interacting? What acts of God do you think He should not do?

I repeat myself when admitting that you are right. As I said, I work hard to follow the ways of our Lord - but have not agreed to the particular ways of violence against my children. I will try to correct my ways - after all, who am I to question the Holy Scripture?

No friend, never hit your children in anger! Wait for the child to calm down first. All you are doing is guiding them with the love of Gods rod. Remember, it hurts you more than it hurts them. Make sure your children know this. Although God will forgive you if you beat a child excessively. It is easy to forget how easy thier little bones snap. Accidents do happen from time to time. If a child is deserving, God will heal them.

Thank you for your guidance - it gladdens me to see that you are so welcoming. I saw some pretty aggressive behaviour in other topics earlier, but after skimming through a few (mostely trolls with no intentions of accepting the right way), I now understand it.

Friend Radical, it is important to remember that, as Brother James has put it, correcting a child's behavior is not, and should never be, about you being angry.

It is about ensuring the child knows the grave importance of obeying and honoring you, as commanded by God, and the importance of following all of God's other Commands.

Have you checked out No Greater Joy, the ministry of Michael and Debi Pearl?

The section on the Art of Child Training is particularly helpful. May I recommend Pearl's insightful article, "Too Young to Spank?"

When is a child too young to spank? The answer is obviously dependent on your definition of the word “spank.”

Some parents practice spanking in a manner that is inappropriate for any child at any age. They strike out in anger and seek to punish the child for the offense the bad behavior has caused them. This is unacceptable at any age, but it is especially egregious when directed at very young and immature children. Spanking at any age should only be administered by those who have a proper philosophy of spanking and are not emotionally-driven. So many people think because they go to Church for Christmas and Easter, own a Bible (someplace) that they are Christians. God says what He means and means what He says. There is no abridged version of Christianity.
It is funny how people can not follow the Word of God yet still think that they can go to Heaven. They think "Gee, I am a good person, surely God understands all my transgressions" or (my favorite) "God was wrong on so many things. I know better... I am sure He wil see it MY way."

I agree with you too, Mr. Hutchins. Many people seem to think that believing is enough, and that going to church will give you salvation. They are sadly mistaken. My personal favorite are those - among many I've discussed with - who seem to think that being a Christian is all about listening and attending, not understanding and obeying. To many, it seems like they mistake the Bible for high school geography lessons. It is sad - and that is why it gladdens me to see this forum, where such matters are really brought to light.

I was wondering if anyone has a clue whether or not the KJV1611 has ever been translated into Swedish. I have pieces at home, but as English is not my native language, I sometimes find it hard to understand some of the older English that is used within it.

Any help would be appreciated!

I don't know anything about translating the Holy Bible into the Swish language, but what I want to know is, has God opened your eyes to the necessity and nurturing act of disciplining your children yet? Friend, their very immortal souls are at stake here and your delicate emotions must be hardened for their sake.

Yes, I have started disciplining my children according to words of our Lord. So far, they are very confused and do not understand my sudden change of acts - but I've explained to them that it is only out of love that I do this. I am sure they will understand it soon.

It is indeed full of IKEA's, who sell cheap furniture with assembly instructions that I swear are designed by the devil himself.

About the blondes - yes. I have in vain tried to approach several scanky, extremely unappropriate women, trying to explain the error of their ways - but they are relucant to listen. I will keep trying though.

Frankly it was impossible for me to put it together and I am pretty sure was designed by Satan himself. Not to mention the name is in some incomprehensible language with far too many dots and odd sounding vowels! Why can't countries here in america speak American?

I know of you irritation, brother. I doubt the stool was named "Djävulen Avföring", as that translated would mean Devils Feaces!

The design is terrible, and it's nearly impossible to put together. I never buy items from IKEA anymore - I am sure it has some connection to Satan.

I am somewhat confused. My title has been changed by someone, it says I am suspected to be an eskimo queer. With all of the trolls roaming these forums - I am not surprised that I am yet to be confirmed an actual Christian - but I must ask when I gave the impression that I would be an Eskimo, or a queer?

Any ideas would be great - I am really glad I found this forum, where the right beliefs are shared amongst others.
