A Christian's Guide to Time Travel. -
05-07-2021, 08:48 PM
A topic that is rarely addressed by ordinary Churches (or as I call them “socialist gossip clubs”) is that they rarely discuss time travel and the implications for the Christian soul. As a forward thinking Church*, Landover is in a good position to advise on this matter.
In common with the Patriarchs and the Prophets, Jesus spoke a lot of the future. He told us what would happen if we did things. From this, we know that the future is certain as God’s Law will not change**. We know what happened in the past – we know what is happening now. We know these things because they are real and fixed. If Jesus knew what would happen, the future must be fixed.
As the past and the present are fixed, we know they are real. You know you went to Walmart yesterday, and you know you are reading this and nothing will change those facts. We have shown that the future is fixed, therefore the future is a real place – Minnesota is a real place. We can travel to Minnesota***, therefore we can travel to the future. And remember, today is tomorrow’s yesterday and yesterday is the past and the past is fixed.
Of course the problem is while Minnesota has air, rail, and road connections, the future does not seem to have these. But neither does the sun, but the sun is a real place, right? It is thus a simple question of how to get there. Fortunately, we need not bother with the finer details of travel to the future; we can just assume that we can do it.
OK – you find yourself 1,000 years in the future and wish to save the souls of the people by explaining about Jesus to them. You have got a difficulty. A thousand years ago, American was a different language: here’s a thousand-year-old passage from Old American that could be about Jesus:
“ðæm eafera wæs æfter cenned, geong in geardum, þone god sende folce to frofre; fyrenðearfe ongeat þe hie ær drugon aldorlease lange hwile.”
Today, we would say
“Later an heir was born to him, there was a son in his palace, whom God had sent to favor the ordinary people, and to sympathize with their sorrows as, in the first place, they had lacked an earl for leader for a long time.”
We can expect American to change in the same amount of time, and thus Modern American will be incomprehensible to the people of the future. The trouble is that while there are plenty of Old American dictionaries, there are no Future American Dictionaries. The consequence of this is that the time traveller would be driven off to the squirrel farm in an ambulance out of the Jetsons, and his mission would be at an end.
Even setting this aside, God is revealing His Mysteries to us as time passes. Whereas we fully expect God’s Law to be unchanged, the time traveller would have no idea of all the Christian thought and apologetics that has gone on it the 1,000 years between his leaving and his arrival. He’d have a lifetime of catching up to do.
OK, you say, let’s travel back in time and alter a few things, For example, all Catholics are burned, Fundamental Baptism is the only religion, and the South wins the Civil War... Wait! We have a problem! We have agreed that the past is fixed, and our time traveller was never in the past and none of these things happened. So we can’t do this. When the Patriarchs, Prophets and Jesus spoke of the past it was always “and this happened, and Ashimaz begat Jehoram, and the army tore them to pieces”, etc. i.e. Things that really happened.
Theoretically, you could go to the past as long as that past is not a past in this dimension… except for the fact that there can’t be “another dimension”. If there were “another dimension”, then there would be another “Christianity” and another Bible. This cannot be so. We know, that for God, time is meaningless and if he had created another dimension, then it would not be exactly the same as this one – that would be pointless. It would have to be different – but we know that the Bible must be True in all dimensions.
There is another problem: If you travel back in time, your cotton shirt will travel back with you. But three years ago, that cotton shirt was seeds… you see what I am getting at? Landover cannot permit Pastors to arrive naked in the distant future any more that it would be right for them to suddenly appear naked in Minnesota.
Of course, the greatest problem in travel to the past is “The End of Days.” Hit on that on your “time dial”, (and remember we don’t know when it is, only that it is “soon”) or the 1,000 years of the rule of Satan, and you’re in big trouble – you’ll either be whisked to heaven or have to live in Hell on earth.
As a result of the foregoing, Landover forbids time travel on the grounds of public safety. Anyone attempting time travel will be shunned instantly.
* Death is in the future and we are an authority of the After Life.
** M't:5:18: For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Lu:16:17: And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.
***No, I don’t know why anyone would want to do that, but that is not the point!

Thank you for your illuminating lesson, Brother Bathfire. I was so confused about time travel before, but then again, I have never been to Minnesota. Your explication provides the sort of clarity that the Christian community so desperately seeks.

Jesus actually was a time traveller.
Quote:
34 And the Lord said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest.
2 And be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning unto mount Sinai, and present thyself there to me in the top of the mount.
3 And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount.
4 And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as the Lord had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone.
5 And the Lord descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord.
6 And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,
7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.
8 And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped.
9 And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray thee, go among us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance.
10 And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the Lord: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee.
11 Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.
12 Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:
13 But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:
14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
15 Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;
16 And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods.
17 Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.
18 The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time of the month Abib: for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt.
19 All that openeth the matrix is mine; and every firstling among thy cattle, whether ox or sheep, that is male.
20 But the firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb: and if thou redeem him not, then shalt thou break his neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none shall appear before me empty.
21 Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.
22 And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end.
23 Thrice in the year shall all your menchildren appear before the Lord God, the God of Israel.
24 For I will cast out the nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou shalt go up to appear before the Lord thy God thrice in the year.
25 Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning.
26 The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.
27 And the Lord said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.
28 And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.
30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.
31 And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them.
32 And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the Lord had spoken with him in mount Sinai.
33 And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face.
34 But when Moses went in before the Lord to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded.
35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

I'm not quite sure here whether you're suggesting Cherenkov radiation or plutonium? Clearly through terrestrial media God does not propagate according to earthly physics but on the other hand Moses necessarily does. Hence my confusion. Transmutation? Or FTL? Either would be as catastrophic for Moses as for Pierre Curie.
Looking forward to your clarification

The brightness around Christ was Cherenkov radiation. All disciples died not by martyrdom but by radiation poisoning. Nuclear radiation was also present during Ressurection, which made Shroud of Turin.

What brightness around Christ? Are you trying to convince us that Jesus was Moses?

How exactly would radiation sickness not be martyrdom? It's pretty fast acting at levels sufficient to make one luminous and remarkably unpleasant.

Radiation sickness is martyrdom.
But they weren't killed by pagans. They were killed by Christ.Shroud of Turin is image produced by radiation during ressurektion.
During ressurektion, a miniature black hole was created. It was like a New Big Bang theory.

Black holes do not cause big bangs. For a start, the amount of material able to be adsorbed onto a black hole is less than the amount of material in a universe. Even a supermassive black hole, central in a galaxy, only has whatever the mass of the galaxy is available. Now you may think, "Oh, but once it's sucked in all of its galaxy, what's to stop super-supermassive black holes from swallowing one another?" (This model usually has putative "white holes" spewing out new universes; perhaps that led to your error.) Astrologists proposing this however A] do not claim that entire galaxies will ever be smeared across their central blobs and B] even if they did, by the time that happened all the rump galaxies——now in the form of gigantic singularities——would be so far apart that interactions between them would be impossible.
There would therefore be no such thing as tense and no such thing as location. No stars to be extruded into darts (and fired into the black hole) no more boiling depths (such as trans-dimensional white holes ferociously inflating) no trailing Cherenkov radiation. From God's perspective, whether or not these ideas are developed further, the whole discussion is about as significant as the best way to cook crocodiles.
Job 41:29-32 Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear. Sharp stones are under him: he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire. He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment. He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary. I still can't see what the Turin shroud has to do with The Resurrection. Please be more specific. As you can see, I've been specific about what black hole proponents claim——whether I agree with them or not is immaterial——now it's your turn to put your thoughts in some sort of order and explain about this shroud. With dates, please.

Shroud of Turin is image of Jesus Christ.
It's cherenkov gamma radiation.
Do you know that Maria-Skłodowska Curie discovered radioactive elements in Christ Tomb?

Working backwards, something you seem familiar with, from sentence three:
How did Mme Curie discover Christ's tomb? That would be a prerequisite for finding anything in it.
Secondly, which radioactive elements did she find?
And thirdly, how did she locate them? (3a) Here you need to provide a date.
Sentence two:
How did Christ generate that particular type of radiation at such wavelengths?
Finally, the beginning. What is a shroud? A cloth. NOT an image, NOT radiation. But you still haven't shown any connection whatsoever between this piece of cloth and Jesus Christ. The most charitable interpretation of its history is that it's a late medieval production pumped out from the same business that gave us nails from the cross, apostles' toenails, holy prepuces and the like. As a part of that operation, the existence of Baptists was suppressed and although John is described as a Baptist in The Bible, reading it in any comprehensible language was prohibited.
Well, you could read a translation if you could find one but the penalty was burning alive and/or other less appealing activities (other than for the hooded good carrying them out) and here I'd remind you that our forum is not about polonium or tacky souvenirs but sharing The Good News about how much Christ suffered to set us free from the worst calamity ever, right there in Eden, all those years ago.

She found Polon and Radon.
In 1889. When she was pilgrimmming to Jerusalem.
It was produced by mass energy black hole.

In July of 1898, they showed that the ore contained a new element that was giving off similar radiation. They named it polonium after Marie's home country, coining the term "radioactivity" in the process. Yet it became apparent to the Curies that there was another substance in the ores that was considerably more radioactive than either uranium or polonium. The challenge now was to find out what.
Enter radium The discovery of radium was hard work. Corrosive acids, strong alkalis and hard labour were required as the Curies performed many separations to tease away the tiny quantities of radium from the 30 or so other elements present. They were working with an ore called pitchblende which they had sourced from a mine in the Ore Mountains that separate Germany from the Czech Republic, in what was still part of the Austrian empire.
The university had only given them a shed next to the departments of chemistry and physics for their work. This was the cold and damp environment in which they had to grind, crush, dissolve, precipitate, filter, wash and painstakingly measure what they found. By December 21 of that year, they had made the discovery.

Polonium had already been covered in post #11 of course. What else did you come up with?

What was the mass of this black hole? It can't be a momentary wormhole because you've identified it as a MASS energy phenomenon, rather than some weird quantum event or a nano-universe momentarily passing through Jerusalem in 1889 like a fly piercing a soap film. As you will see, more than just The Levant would be affected if our universe is the surface of the bubble - and it's worth pointing out how similar its distribution of matter is to droplets in the disintegrating bubble, according to the claims of authorities you must acknowledge for what you say about black holes to have any veracity. None of it, however, agrees with The Bible. "It" means your stuff about black holes. It doesn't agree with physics. It doesn't agree with chemistry. Radon, radium and Polon (whatever that is) do not come from black holes. Radon comes from granite (affecting many residents of granite houses) but if time travel were a possibility the amount of energy required would be the same by whatever means as accelerating something up to 669,000,000 MPH or thereabouts which supposedly moves you into some sort of future. Negative velocity would move you into the past. That amount of energy would certainly create a black hole but Jesus appeared simultaneously with others from very different time periods WITHOUT black holes. How do you explain that?
Mark 9:2-4 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them. And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them. And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.

Thank you for your comment. This thread is about Time Travel. For some reason the Curies were brought up, seemingly because Cherenkov radiation means that Jesus could travel faster than light. In support of this, it was claimed that Marie Curie found an element in His tomb in 1889 which she did not discover until 1898.
HYPERDENSE PROTONIC SPECIFICITY
Radon was also mentioned. Taken together the drivel presented as evidence for time travel would best be refuted in terms of hyperdense protonic specificity. Why? Because anyone proposing the arguments would find that an insurmountable objection. What normally happens is they jump straight across to a different line of reasoning.
As highlighted in the original post, attempts at time travel are attempts to subvert God's Plan, especially since we know that relocation across time within The Plan does not involve shifting dimensions. How do we know that? Because the time-relocated individuals [such as Moses, Samuel, Elijah] were clearly discernible to observers and capable of conversation, in the historical record of The Bible. If you could find those as an illustration, that would be a help. Check out I SAMUEL (excerpt ¹ from chapters 27 to 30 linked) and LUKE (excerpt ² from chapters 7 to 9 linked) for documented examples. And because it's an interesting topic, I'll include an instance of relocation in space (excerpt ³ from ACTS linked below) where you could assess if time travel was necessary or not.

This is a gross and purposeful misinterpretation of Holy Scripture.
I feel you are possessed of demons and your brain is mush. In a panic to get right with Jesus, you have attempted to find a back door to Heaven by the use of a Magic Decoding Ring that only you can understand.
Landover does the best exorcisms, the very best. The cost is not inconsiderable but you can bring your own herd of swine to save money. (No Vietnamese Pot-Bellied Pigs!)
