So, there's a record number of women running for president. University students - our future ruling class - are majority female. There's a lot of predictions that we will have world peace if we have a female-ruled world.
Kind of reminds me of the liberal optimism around the Burmese bimbo Aung San Suu Kyi, before she took power and, you know,
committed genocide.
Bit catchier tune that the "Horst-Wessel Lied" but overall the same thing:
Irish Times: U2 ''...could have “never imagined” Ms Suu Kyi would remain silent while more than 600,000 Rohingya people were forced to flee police brutality in Myanmar.
The band members write they never could have predicted...''
Perhaps all of our prediction skills could be improved if we stopped putting the poontang on a pedestal?
And don't say that female leaders are only being violent to fit in with the boys. When there are ONLY female leaders, they have catfights: the rivalry between Sheikh Hasina and Begum Khaleda Zia has
killed 1,000+ Bangladeshis in the past 5 years alone. And who could forget Queen Lizzie chopping off the head of Mary, Queen of Scots?
Okay, but these are anecdotes, you say. Well,
here's a study of 33 female heads of state, which concludes that female leaders:
"...engaged in wars in which their polity was the aggressor...female rulers, in their own right, pursued more aggressive war policies."
Want a larger sample size? How about the whole population of Germany?
I know we tend to "
teach the controversy" when it comes to whether the holocaust happened, but this book sounds believable:
