Do you have any idea what it meas to say that everything is the will of god?
In your eyes then Hitler wasn't a crazed psychopath, the people involved with 9/11 weren't terrorists, that prick that shot up Virginia Tech wasn't a complete loon? You consider them saints ...

I said no such thing. Kindly do not put your lies and hatred of Jesus into my mouth.
I said that it was the Will of God that it happen. Why can't God use a crazed psychopath or terrorists to accomplish His own ends? He moves in mysterious ways.
Either God caused or God allowed all the events you mentioned to occur, for reasons unknown to us.
What you don't seem to realize is that denying that anything which occurs is God's Will is saying that mere humans have the ability to defy God's Plan, and that He is powerless to stop us from so doing.
Are you calling God impotent?

Indeed, his belief that God is impotent is most surely a Freudian slip.. Another attempt at recreating God in the image of a.. "man".
Ennu, Jesus can cure your.. condition.. should you just accept Him!

Do you have any idea what it means to say that everything isn't the will of God? In your eyes, then, God is either powerless, apathetic, or just plain lazy. Which is it?
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.
God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

And exactly who granted us those capabilities? God Almighty, that's who!

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace

We are "predestinated" to be redeemed through His blood, because it was "the pleasure of His will". You are a deluded demon, because your father is satan.
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

You must realize that God rewards those that obey his Word and are diligent.
Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."
You see? You could have the exact same earthly and monetary rewards if you become a True Christian. I warn you though, do not persist in your sinful ways, debating if Christianity is "right for me". Jesus is returning to Earth soon to reclaim those few True Christians who are left and if you're not one of them, he's going to drop kick your unsaved butt right into the flaming pits of hell.
Psalm 9:17 "The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God."
I suggest you talk to one of the Pastors quick about purchasing the plan of salvation. Maybe in your sorry condition they'll consider giving you a small discount.

Certainly.
You may independently choose to love and follow and obey Jesus, or independently choose to spend eternity shrieking in undescribable torment.

It doesn't matter who or why we are capable of making our own choices, it only matters THAT we can, because of that no god has direct control over what a human choses to do. In your case that means that a war that is not fought by 'True Christians' is not the will of god, outside nations taking advantage over that, is not the will of god, and the suffering caused by those choices is also not the will of god. Now, helping others apparently also is not the will of god but, if I recall correctly, neither is building a church.

Actually, everything that happens is the will of God. Either He causes it, or He allows it.
Why is that so hard to grasp?

Take yo hate speech elsewhere. If someone freely give something to you (like a love gift), that do not in any way be stealing. And the LORD command folk to tithe in His Word. If they wantsa tithe to a True Christian ™ Church, what be wrong with that?

How dare you say such things! Landover Baptist Church's Godly Forum is every bit as real as the Love of Jesus and the Fires of Hell!
We speak only the Truth about God and Jesus, telling people like YOU what the Bible really says (instead of Pastor Feelgood's lies), and this is the thanks we get?
I defy you to find any instance where we have been dishonest about God's Word! (You won't.)
Perhaps you need to do a little Bible study before you start making accusations! You can find out just how far off you really are from knowing God's Word by taking a few Bible quizzes at www.landoverbaptist.org/quizlist.html.

Let's start by saying I'm a proud atheist. Now That out of the way...as soon as I saw this thread I had to read it. Yea...you're not a cult :S. Anyways...some stuff YOU said got me thinking and here's my thoughts:
1.

OK so you're not a destructive cult but...
Quote:
The Merriam-Webster online dictionary lists five different meanings of the word "cult":
1. Formal religious veneration
2. A system of religious beliefs and ritual; also: its body of adherents;
3. A religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious; also: its body of adherents;
4. A system for the cure of disease based on dogma set forth by its promulgator;
5. Great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement, or work (as a film or book).
|
Number 1,2,3 and especially 5 sure do sound like you.
And in the same post:
Quote:
stop complaining that your aged parents gave Landover "your" inheritance. (Did YOU earn it? No, I didn't think so. GOD did.)
|
god earned my parents money? I don't think so...they did. And wt* does "god" need money for anyways? I thought he has "the whole world in his hand"

|
Same story here. They ALL follow the word of god I think. Isn't that what they do?
