Praise Jesus you found us friend. Pray tell, what's your favourite verse? Which country do you think the US should invade next? Who would you personally like to see Jesus lovingly smite, and how?
Yours in Christ,
Temperance
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.
God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

Welcome to God's favorite forum. Please tell us about yourself. What church do you attend? How old are you?
What does your screen name mean? Moles are either spies or vermin, so we're naturally curious.
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:
Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

He might be a Sand Hog, they are a fairly good bunch of guys.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

I can appreciate your concern pastor. I am 38, and live in NYC.
My screen name may seem a bit suspect, but please do not fear.
For the past decade I have lived a life of sin and drunkeness. I
felt so low at points that I wanted to die. I just couldn't continue.
My world was very dark, and I felt as though everyday was a pass-
ing existance. I literally felt like a 'Mole' living in a hole. I was anti-
social and depressed. A friend gave me a copy of the KJ Bible today.
I feel as though I can make it now. I will be searching for my favorite
scripture. Please allow a day or two for me to familarize myself with
KJ's teachings.
I do need a lot of help still. But I do have hope.
Thank you.

I am looking through the KJ; but cannot find a passage
for encouragement...Pastor. There is much information,
and as a newbie cannot find the correct passage to add
in here. Can you offer any suggestions?
Thank you.

Honestly, every Scripture in the Holy Word of God brings joy and comfort to me, because God wants us to see His message as a whole.
I'm not sure what's troubling you, friend. Maybe this verse is appropriate for you today. God doesn't want us to think too much.
Quote:
Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? - Matthew 6:25

You are correct. I should not over-think things too much.
I am dissapointed in my salacious behavior over the past
decade. I don't know whether I am worthy of being saved.
I am also mad because I witnessed an act of disrespect
towards God a few days ago. I went to St. Patrick's Cathedral
for some peace. Sadly, there never is any. It is over-run by
tourists, as it has been for as long as I can remember. I saw
all of these people taking pitures, not realizing that it is a place
of worship. Yet, these people view it as a tourist attraction;
much like Disney Land. I just feel dis-enchanted seeing that
people in life have lost focus of what's really important. Seeing
such a divine place being disrespected really bothered me........

Friend, it is obvious that satan has turned your brain into clam chowder. There is nothing "divine" about St. Pat's Cathedral (nor any other papist coven). That place is no better than Disneyland, and God is not present in either location.
We are Christians, not mary worshipers. Please take a look at THIS thread on the topic.
I'll pray for the Holy Spirit to enter you.

I was wrong, and you are correct. I need to be saved,
yet I need your help. I just can't go on. I am a sinner
and a person who has ignored God. Perhaps, I do deserve
to find myself in a fiery pit of hell. I just don't know what
to do. I am a lost soul. As I sleep to rest my head, the
KJ Bible is on my nightstand. It has helped a bit. But I
feel as though my 'wrong doings' are just not enough to
save my sorry, pathetic ass. I want to change; and I
read my new found glory. I just think I might forever be
lost. Please help me Pastor. I just want to die.............

What is it that you need, freind? We are here to help.
Explain your sins in detail, hold nothing back, so that all may benefit from your testimony.
Having done that, Jesus may be ready to listen to you.

Thank you Pastor. My life has been a disaster over the past
10 years, but has gotten worse over the past 2. I was a real
ass to my wife because I could not get over the fact that she
had a child in a previous marriage. Although I loved her, I called
her names like 'whore' and 'bitch' when I got drunk, which was
very often. I could not understand why she didn't 'save' herself
for me. I am still very angry, and full of hate.
I lost my job because I couldn't focus. Over the past two years
I have turned to a life of alcohol and condom-less sex. I hate my
life, and I hate who I have become. Most of all I am ashamed that
I have cursed at God over my own imperfections. I have no direction
and no prospects. I am in my own world, like a 'Mole in a hole.' That
is how I truly feel. I am just a sinner and fear the Lord's wrath at my
day of judgement.
I always thought my good deeds to others would out-weigh my bad
deeds. I have learned that is not the case. I help my fellow many in
anyway, because I understand what it is like to be in pain, and an
unbearable existance. I buy food for homeless people, I give money
(what little I have...spare change) to bums on the street. Yet these
noble actions will not save me from my wrong activities..................
I want to be saved. I thank you for your response. Many people have
looked at what I have written, but only you have responded and taken
an interest. Nobody wants to help except you. I'm losing faith.........
I am destined to burn in hell unless something happens...................

Son do not direct your anger at us. These are very busy forums and the pastors live very busy lives indeed so you may not get a response right away. Why do you lash out so readily?
Do you see my signature? Click on the "Are you a Sinner?!?!" link. That is a prayer that you can say so that you can accept Jesus into your life. Having done that, you will be free of the anger and hatred that you displayed on your last post.

Rev. Jim. Thank you. I just get out of hand sometimes.
THIS is why I need Jesus in my life, yet nobody wants to
help me. I am a sinner who wants to get better and restore
my poor excuse for a life. I am angry at myself. I do not
want to get banned. I want to be saved. I am sorry for my
comments. To answer your question, I 'lashout' because I
am angry, but I love all. Please help me....

What you must realize is that when you accept Jesus Christ as your savior, all your sins are washed clean! The drunkeness, the fornication, the hate you feel everyday...all those sins are forgiven by Jesus Christ. Your past does not matter anymore. What matters is you are on the path to True Christianity™ by being Saved© by Jesus Christ.
When you pray to Jesus you need to feel Him coming into your heart. You need to feel different and changed. You must realize that as many good deeds that you do, you can only be saved by faith in Christ alone. Become humble, throw yourself on your knees and ask Jesus to save you. He will.
I recommend you read the Bible everyday. In it there is much wisdom to help us people. Here is an inspirational quote for you...
Quote:
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
|
Paul is telling us that once you accept Christ you become a new creature, a new man. Your past of drunkeness and fornication is no more. You are born anew. Read that quote and reflect on it and ask yourself how it applies to you in your current life.
Yours in Christ,
Rev. Jim
