It's similar to First Secretary of State but does not carry as many responsibilities as Lord President of the Council.

Mitza, I'm afraid this is all going way above your head. The President selects a Deputy Prime Minister, or Lord of the Protectorate or First Secretary, and the point, the point for you really is that the leadership remains in good hands. Important people are doing crucial work, safely positioning the leadership remaining as it were crucial to the important positioning of the crucial thank you for your question.

I think the queen - or, in more normal times, the king - is also involved somehow. But nobody really understands, which is as it should be. The job of the Deputy Prime Minister is to stand in for the Prime Minister when he's incapable through being at the dentist, or getting his ears syringed, or drunk, or whatever. I don't think having been forced to resign while simultaneously staying in office counts as incapacity, though I suppose a case could be made for insanity or perhaps treason?

Periodically people vote, like in a reality TV show, but they don't get to choose the Prime Minister or his Deputy or any of the government ministers or officials ... or the king/queen for that matter. This system has been in place (with minor variations/hiatuses) for over 700 years, on the basis that what people don't understand, they don't oppose. Also the people are not armed, which helps maintain the status quo.

Alone Muck and Dang'old Trump are presently bickering on the social medias (the one they're not banned from or buying or trying to launch). This is a crucial election year debate about, I believe, whether the one likes the other. Fascinating. Let's look forward to further coverage.

I only hope it doesn't edge out the Conservative bickering contest in the UK - yes the third or fourth one in recent years. There's so much vacuous right wing prattle and only so many hours in the 24 hour news cycle.

The main point of this story SHOULD be that Netanyajew thinks he can order around US presidents. The fact of the matter is that Kanye West is an old friend of Trump currently going through a rough patch, so Trump invited him to dinner along with some friend of Kanye's who Trump had never even heard of who turned out to be a white supremacist (though friends with Mr. Ye, a Negro).

Ali Alexander-- big-time Trump supporter who gave his best to stop Joe Biden from being illegally installed as President--has accused Marjorie Taylor Greene of being a harlot.

While I am loathe to see all this in-fighting among Republicans, I am deeply heartened by the use of old-school Biblical rhetoric. Mr. Alexander needs to be careful, though.
