Also MCR is NOT responsible for the death of anyone. When someone commits suicide there is a deeper issue other than the music they listen to. MCR's lyrics are not promoting suicide in any way. Many people start listening to "emo" music as an escape from depression. It contains content that they can relate to and make them feel like they are not alone.

this thread is old af- but mcr saved me from suicide. a couple years back- i was extremely depressed. I was ready to end it all. I played some music and stared at the ceiling. Famous Last Words came on. That song save my life. It made me feel understood. Like i wasn't alone in the world. So if anyone sees this before i log off the site for good- you're not alone. There are people who will miss you. No matter what happens after death- don't throw your life away on suicide. Once you extinguish your flame- its done. No going back. You're dead and gone. Don't put your family and friends through the guilt. Don't do anything rash. Please. There's so much to live for. You'll get through this.

Fortunately, it is confirmed MCR is not satanic, so you are incorrect. Gerard Way believes in God and is catholic. He’s just not very religious because he had a bad experience, Ray Toro, another guitarist brings a bible with him to some concerts! Gerard has a wife (and the other members too) they just really respect the LGBTQ+ community and other religions which is absolutely fine. Before Gerard and his wife got married, Gerard jokingly “kissed” Frank Iero as an act and acted gay to get some people and homophobes angry (This was confirmed in an interview!) 😂

Also MCR is not satanic, nor driving people to suicide. Not all emo’s are bad and they’re not very emo. More of alternative rock anyway. The black parade (the song “dead” was on) is a concept album/an album that tells a story. Misinterpretation of lyrics is very common. Music you’re interested in wouldn’t just drive you to suicide like that.. (In one of their songs from that album, it says “I am not afraid to keep on living, I am not afraid to walk this world alone ” cool!)

They did not cause the suicide of Hannah. The girl was obviously not mentally stable.. MyChem was never a suicide cult; it was all the bad side of the community spreading that. Gerard Way is a really sweet guy. He calls his fans beautiful. People shouldn’t judge him by how he used to look. He thinks/thought it looked cool! Yes he had some sad years in the past. He’s no longer suicidal and tells people who self-harm to never do that! He has very inspirational quotes, including “there’s nothing worth hurting yourself” and “suicide is a serious thing”. He NEVER told his fans to hurt/kill themselves. God forgives Gerard for his past sins just like God forgives us for our sins. And what does he do with that Bible? Does he read and respect the many, MANY passages that specifically condemn homosexuality?

Why do you people come here and make such ineffectual comments? Do you think that we are making these concepts up out of thin air? We are simply reporting what the Bible says. Homosexuality is not acceptable to God as reported in the one written source that also tells us that God exists.

Do you want to believe in God? If yes, then you read and obey His instructions. If no, then shrug off the Bible and take your chances. Carrying around a book as a prop is meaningless. So is talking about God as if He were real while claiming that the life or death commands that He uttered are not real.

God does not expressly forgive sins, you must EARN His forgiveness. It is not handed out like Molly at one of your MCR satanic ritual 'concerts'. You must, with your every thought, action and breath praise God and beg Him to forgive you. Even then, after 100 years, He may not.

What is a chemical romance? It is a romance with chemicals. The "ecstacy" and the LSD and marihuana and for all I know the ketamine and the crystal meth and heroin, all get fairly regular coverage in the press. You may say, "But putting some MDMA or 'acid' in fruit punch at a party is simply an occasional treat, appropriate for parties but not when operating a submarine." Whether I agree with that or not, such a description hardly qualifies as a romance. Romances are ongoing, the longing to see one another during work hours, the joy of meeting up later, possibly going to see a play or recital of the romantic poets. Going on to a nightclub later or having an intimate Chinese meal in some poorly-lit velvet alcove. Romance is not one glug of punch two or three times a year.

A chemical romance, it follows, is where you're off your onion 24/7 and if Miss Molly turns up (or if you are Miss Molly) so much the better. There are many other examples. Satan controls all of them.
