Bunch of Richard Dawkins Quotes (Was 'Pro-Jesus?') -
04-04-2007, 10:04 PM
The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.
Why do people insist on praising this real character? It bewilders me. Fools of the earth, fools.
Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
Religion is something left over from the infancy of our intelligence; it will fade away as we adopt reason and science as our guidelines.

Friend,
Just consider for a moment if The Bible is right; would you want the God just described on your side, or against you?
Think about it friend.
Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

Finally, someone who's read his Bible! Too bad it was Richard Dawkins who did the reading.

If you wish to quote Richard Dawkins, feel free. However, please credit your source instead of plagiarizing.

Yay! I know, at least we agree on something!
But this:
Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
Is actually quoted form Steven Weinberg! Tut tut!!
How about a little Katherine Hepburn?
I'm an atheist, and that's it. I believe there's nothing we can know except that we should be kind to each other and do what we can for other people.
Maybe a little Bill Hicks?

Then I guess Dawkins plagiarized it and put it on his own website as one of his own quotes.

How nice. What a lovely sentiment, to worship barbarians who torture people to death. Must be a charming fellow.

God's Holy and just nature causes him to be all these things. If you want to blame this on somebody, you should blame two peoples - Satan for tempting Eve into eating the forbidden fruit, and Eve herself for being so blatantly ignant. When sin had entered into the world is when God's judgments went into action. PRAISE JESUS that He consistantly puts the unsaved in they place!

Wasn't he only 32 when Jesus struck him down? That atheism really worked out well for him!
I'm also curious if he actually had "ROFL" in that original quote. If so, that helps further explain the youthful smiting of cancer.

"Barbarians who torture people to death", eh? Hehe, so jesus was one of these people? You DO know jesus was a jew, right?? Haha, sabbath on a saturday, circumcision, synogogue... all that? Tee hee!
I was under the impression Adam and Eve represented man kind. Although I'm sure you'd do exactly the same thing if you were in Eve's position. Banishment from Eden AKA "the great fall"? Representing all man? So only Adam and Eve (and their family) were banned from Eden? Oooh! How about I organise my summer holiday to Eden! How exciting! Seeing as I'M not banished!

Sure.. Jesus was a jew. Instead of God/Son of God, right. He was just another jew.
That's also the reason why He created a new religion; Christianity.. Because He was a jew.

Adam and Eve are very literal, and they are the ancestors of all mankind.

You're a complete dumbass!
As ALL humans have Adam and Eve as ancestors: YOU are banished too.
If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: But if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.

No, Jesus is God. He doesn't have to worship God, being God.

Adam and Eve and their descendents were banished from Eden. Since you are descended from Adam and Eve (being human and all, or at least I assume you are!), you are likewise banished.
Nice try.

Well said, Lateefah!
Yes, God, being omniscient, knew that the humans He created would sin and eat that apple before He created them! He knew that this act would introduce sin into the world, yet He put that tree in the garden and created the serpent anyway!
Why did He do this?
Well, He had created Hell to punish sinners. Imagine, all that fuel being expended to keep an unquenchable lake of fire burning, with no sinners!
Of course, it couldn't work unless Adam and Eve were, as Lateefah delightfully puts it, "ignant". So, God didn't let them know the difference between good and evil, or right and wrong. That means they didn't know that it was wrong to disobey God until AFTER they ate of the tree!
Pretty clever, huh? But Ignorance of the Law is no excuse!
And you insult God, BAA? How can you consider God to be silly when He was so clever?

Excuse me, I thought I made it blatantly obvious that I was being sarcastic!! Should've added this dude- ! Aaah well...
I have a sound knowledge of many religions (muslim, open theology, universalism, christadelphianism, buddhist AND SO ON), but mainly christianity. Please don't patronise me so.
Just to confirm: w00t for sarcasm

Sure you do.. And you were only sarcastic.. Right.
And the Bible tells us to patronize women, because you are inferior to us men and easily deceived. (1 Timothy 2:12-14)
If you really knew anything about Christianity, you'd surely know that.

Even reflecting back to my days as a Christian, people like you made me flinch at thought. You have heard of this thing the bible mentions- Judgement Day? You think your god is proud of you, teaching non christians like this? When I was a christian, I was encouraging towards non christians. Helped them come to faith. Rather like jesus did. I read his teachings, practiced what I preached. Prayed constantly for those in help. I never dispised anyone, welcomed everyone to the christian faith, no matter what there past was. No matter what.
Maybe you should consider taking advice from my past? Evidently, you don't like my present.

I should take advice from how you "preached" in your past when you turned out like this?
No, thank you. But thanks for your "offer".
But we are helping and teaching people, and we know that LYING to them (as you obviously did) isn't helping anyone.
God will condemn most of the world to hell, FACT. (Mark 16:16)
God hate and wants sinners dead, FACT. (Psalm 5:4-6)
God welcomes everyone, YES.
(well, ALMOST everyone, those who blaspheme the holy spirit, for instance, they will never be forgiven.)
But God wants us to worship HIM: and not some fantasy god created in one's own image.
God is a demanding God, who demands obedience.
Also, YOU WOMEN AREN'T EVEN ALLOWED TO TEACH, BECAUSE YOU ARE EASILY DECEIVED! (1 Timothy 2:14)
But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
1 Timothy 2:12
If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: But if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
A foolish woman is clamorous: She is simple, and knoweth nothing.

You know if this mouthy little pervert tries to pass off any more material from Dawkins, or any other source, without giving due credit, then he's going to go get some serious infraction points. Next step would be moderation.
What you are doing is immoral, wrong, illegal and thievery. Which is to say par for the course when filthy atheists are at work.
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:
Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)
