Apparently, there is some kind of Olympics going on in Russia right now. I don't know too much about it, I don't watch sports - there are either too manly (like football), or too homo (like ice skating), and there are no real female sports (like sewing or cooking contests).
However, I've been watching the Fox news, and I've heard that many people have been criticizing Russian President Vladimir Putin, for choosing the warmest spot of his empire as the home of the Winter Olympics.
What people don't understand, is that Putin is well ahead of our time. Winter Olympics in Sochi is like having a cake and eating it, too - the athletes can ski in the morning and then go to the beach in the afternoon:
I really don't get it, why do journalists hate Putin so much. During the commie times, Western journalists would take each piece of Lenin's and Stalin's crap as gold, swallowing their Potemkin's villages and ignoring the reality. (Lenin used to call them fondly "the useful idiots," saying that they were preparing the rope to be hung with after the world revolution.). And then, the communism falls, the leftist journalists finally could not hide the fact that they were full of crap, but were they going to apologize - no, rather, they are taking their anger and lost hopes against Putin, a Honorary True Christian™.
Oh, look, I've digressed somewhat. (It's a drawback of being a female, I cannot focus my attention on important stuff for too long). Anyway. Other people are complaining about yellow water, twin toilets, poisoned stray dogs, and overall falseness of Sochi. Really? Instead of praising Putin for investing 50 billion dollars in his favorite vacation spot, all they can do is criticize some insignificant (almost imaginary) problems. Of course entire neighborhoods had to be leveled, and their residents relocated as far as possible, in order to build the Olympic Village. It's called
progress!
Putin is not doing anything wrong!
