Historical correction: At the time of the Black Plague, Europe was not Christian. Most Europeans were Romans and the reason God visited the Plague upon them is likely due to all the idol worshipping and other Roman ceremonies that were going on at the time. That kind of behavior is anathema to the Lord and He cannot be expected to withhold His wrath from the wicked.
