You sound stressed, Brother. Have you been watching the continuous coverage of "We don't know anything yet, but we get paid by the hour, so we'll continue to talk about the things we don't know about yet"?
You need to take a deep breath and do something else. In my case, I washed all windows in the house this afternoon, no tv, no tablet, no smart phone in sight.
Here is a recipe for a soothing leek soup, your wife can make it very easily:
2 leeks, cut in 1/2 inch slices
1 or 2 cloves of garlic, sliced
1 medium size potato, peeled and cut in quarters
1 cup chicken stock
about 2 cups of water (depending how thick you want the soup)
2 tablespoons butter
milk or cream to taste
spices: a dash of salt, pepper, and optionally turmeric (for color)
garnish: chopped herbs, shredded cheese, and/or bacon grits
Lightly fry leeks and garlic in butter, stirring until everything is pleasantly golden. Add potato, stir, add chicken stock and water. Cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally. When the potato pieces are tender, lightly mash everything with potato masher (you can use a blender if you want a very creamy texture). Add spices, and when ready to serve add milk or cream. Stir well.
Serve garnished with chopped herbs of your choice, shredded cheese, and/or bacon grits.
This serves 2 larger or 3 smaller portions.
