Hello there [I'm a barren Armenian snake-handler who robs God of children] -
06-01-2022, 10:11 PM
Well I think it’s about time I introduced myself to you all. The name’s Vanessa and I’m rather intrigued by this forum so I thought I’d check it out.
I don’t attend a church at present since I learnt of all those false teachers running around these days and I was following a few. The bible does say in Timothy: “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” I’m pretty much going to my bible for truth now.
My favourite bible verse is always changing. See my signature if you would like to know my current fave.
Despite being raised in a Christian home, I truly gave my life over to Jesus at the age of 14 at a church youth camp. Ain't much to tell about it.
Hello to you all and looking forward to meeting ya
In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

Welcome Merciful--That was a nice introduction. We're all happy you are a Christian. It was a little disappointing to learn you do not go to a church. Most areas have Bible believing churches that condemn sin. Certainly, you can join in the discussion here and learn of your own sin and that of others.

I guess I'm just of the mind that most aren't and I might get caught up in one that isn't and not know it. I still have my reservations about this forum too.
Perhaps I've become too skeptical and picky.

Miss Rose, on this forum we are skeptical of so-called Christians who think they can pick and choose which parts of the religion to follow. The answer is ALL of it, every single page of the Bible - the original 1611 KJV version. Any alteration, addition or omission means it is not Christianity.

Good answer. There is nothing wrong in most cases to being skeptical.
But being skeptical about God's Word is a problem. It just is not allowed.
Women here at Landover Baptist are enthusiastic about BIG families, raising soldiers for Jesus. Do you have such plans?

Eep! Activity!

I don't have a husband at present but I do live with my father if that means anything. If I need his permission, I'm pretty sure I already have it. So long as I do the housework he doesn't care what I do.
Dr Anthony J. Toole
It's good that you are. I am curious about your thoughts on the Old covenant and the New Covenant I've heard about. How the Old was for the Jews and the New is for the Gentiles.
Isabella White
Thank you for your warm welcome much appreciated.
If memory serves I think I quoted the Psalm from the 1599 Geneva bible.

I'm not at all skeptical about God's word. It's just people I'm skeptical about. In relation to families, I've always wanted kids but I'm not sure I'd make good mother material plus there's the money side of it.

I challenge you to find someone on this list who is wealthier and/or more educated than you are. Most of them didn't even have running water or electricity. You have no excuse.
And don't worry about the "influence" of parents, it's almost nil, peers have a bit of influence but most people turn out the way God made them.
Even secular science agrees:

Welcome. I hope you won’t mind me asking a few questions. Keep in mind that complete honesty is important, as Jesus knows the truth and does not take kindly to liars.
What denomination of Christianity do you hail from? You call yourself Christian yet you don’t currently attend church. A rather confusing circumstance, but being Christian you must be from study from some denomination yes? Second, your current favorite Bible verse is 56:4. It’s all well and good that you chose the KJV version, but you haven’t explained why. If you can do so, that would be greatly appreciated. Lastly, this is a topic that I hold important to me. What race are you and what are your views on mixed marriage? THIS will be the biggest test question I can throw at you.

At least you got your Bible quote in your signature incorrect. What is your favourite drink?
Jeremiah 6:21 Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.

Indeed so... I put some thought into this.
Uncle Rutherford
Interesting questions, I'll do my best.
1. I've never really paid attention to the differences in the denominations. I grew up in a Baptist church then moved to a Pentacostle church before I started staying home and looking for teachings on the internet and from the Word itself. So I'm not sure how to answer that question.
2. I tend to stick with the Geneva Bible which is where the Psalm I quoted came from. I think I picked that one up because it's the earliest bible I could find.
3. I am a white causcasion woman. I don't think I could marry someone of another race. Doesn't feel right to me. I'm not sure if these are the answers you're looking for.
Roland
My signature is from the 1599 Geneva Bible version. I'll fix it up shortly.
My favourite drink is the wonderfully delicious hot chocolate! And don't forget those marshmallows! hehe

Good answer. Next question: What is you favourite dish and why is it pasta?

Indeed so, you agree you have no excuse to be barren? So what's the hold up? Are all the white men in the Caucasus already married to their sheep?
You should come to America. There's still no border wall to stop you, and lots of people will welcome you if you say you're a Russian deserter.

My favourite drink is either water or cheap wine. My favourite dish is this one:
But please share your pie recipe.

This is very tiresome chat. I look forward to when you're ready to talk about something actually meaningful. In the meantime, welcome blah blah, tell us your favorite recipes etc.
John 7:19
Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?

And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.
Kings 4:27
Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.

Had to point out the two “Uh Ohs” from your answers. Hopefully you can fix them. As for my third question, it doesn’t matter what I am looking for. It matters to Jesus what you do. Don’t forget that.

We need to move this thread onto a more important topic, sin. Merciful, what sin would you like us to help you cast off? This is our special talent and it is here to help you.
