Default Day 166. Psalm 56-60 - 11-13-2008, 08:06 PM

Psalm 56-60

Psalm 56

1 Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.

Since everyone else in the world is oppressing the jews, they at least need the LORD to be merciful.

4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

Amen! There is no need to fear what any person could do to you, when it is God, who ultimately controls everything, should you be afraid of the man who can kill you, or the God that can send you to hell?

9 When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.

If God is for me, who can stand against me?

13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

This verse is very "prosperity gospel" -ish. Since I'm going to be going to heaven, God might as well let me have a good life in the here and now.

Psalm 57

1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

Bad things may be happening to me, right now, but since I am with God, it can't all be that bad.

9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

Do you see modern jews in Israel doing this? Do you see modern jews talking about God at all? No, all they ever do is talk about the "holocaust" and how crappy their lives are, and how palestine is trying to blow them up. Never do they actually praise the LORD! Is there a connection? You decide.

Psalm 58

1 Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?

I know our congregation speaks in righteousness. I know they judge uprightly. Can you say the same? Does the New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado speak righteousness? Do they judge uprightly?

Do the people who provided support to a meth user and gay prostitute user judge uprightly?

3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

This verse is one of my favorites, in the category of pro-choice. Why shouldn't we allow, finance, provide, or even FORCE abortions on children that are born out of wedlock. Why should we keep another child who doesn't have a real chance at success in life (or the afterlife)?

6 Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD.

What good are bastard children with broken teeth?

10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

Why do pro-life groups think that what they are doing is God's will? The righteous dance in the blood of aborted fetus!

11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

Who knows how many people we'd convert to True Christianity™ if we danced in babies blood? I'd like to think MILLIONS!

Psalm 59

1 Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me.

Dear God, save me from my enemies. That's a nice sentiment. This time the psalmist isn't wishing harm on his enemies.

5 Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.

Oops, I spoke too soon.

13 Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.

In verse 11, he asked that the people not be slayed, but instead we just want them consumed!

17 Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.

MY defence, MY mercy. Not MY enemies.

Psalm 60.

1 O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.

Remember, for thousands of years, the jews had been out of Israel. It wasn't until the 1948 that they got their country. That led to a mass migration, that some people believe (idiots) is mentioned here in Psalm 60.

4 Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.

The jews approved their flag in 1948.

7 Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;

When the jews all came back, they ran out of places to put them. So they started taking land from Palestinians.

12 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

The United States also provided a role in some of those wars.

So what have we learned today?

1. It's ok to wash your feet in the blood of dead babies.

2. Jews loves them some palestinian lands.

3. God is for me, probably not you.
