Kaylee believes people are defined by who or what they were born as, and can never change.
I do not agree with Kaylee.

At the time, the Jews were God's chosen people. After Jesus came to and departed from earth, His elect became all those who believed in Him, including former Jews and former pagans. If all the Jews had accepted Christ, there would have been no need to differentiate the righteous Christ-believing Hebrews (ancestors of today's Christians) from the wicked Christ-killing Hebrews (ancestors of today's Jews). I understand that the terminology can be confusing for the feebleminded, but you can't seriously believe that because Jesus was a Hebrew, that that means he was a hook-nosed, dreidel-spinning, Yiddish-speaking, bagel-eating goblin who worked in a bank. Is any of this getting through to you? Jesus was Jewish, but He wasn't a damn Jew.

There are so many things wrong with this, but I'm tired, so I'll just point out that the Romans were the ones who killed Jesus- (which BTW- crucifixion was never a death sentence, it was basically an extreme version of the stocks) not the Jewish. And Jesus was middle-eastern. He wasn't white- he didn't have blond hair and blue eyes. That's a westernized version of Jesus. Jesus would've had brown hair and brown eyes, with a tan to olive skin tone. So yes- Jesus would've fit the bill for a Hebrew man. He would've had a hooked nose, and he certainly wouldn't have spoken English. How can you be anti-Semitic when Jesus himself was just another Middle Eastern guy that happened to "rise from the dead".

We hear that all the time here, "Jesus was brown..yadayadayada..."
Think a little here. Use your God-given brain. Here is why we know Jesus was white with blue eyes:
The leading Christians in the world are those of us here at Landover Baptist. We are white with blue eyes. Work backwards into history and you will find us linked directly to Jesus. The Jesus you find is white with blue eyes. There can be no other conclusion.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

The more popular version of Jesus had fair skin, blond hair, and blue eyes. That was the version that was painted by European men during the Renaissance Era. And like it or not-
This is what the real face of Jesus would've looked like- according to genetics and the earliest art of Jesus (which we can assume is more accurate based on how it was made closer to the actual events). He wouldn't have been a clean, rosy cheeked, soft haired man- He would've gone months without personal care, the majority of Middle Eastern people have curly dark brown hair (which, knowing from experience, does not look good without a good comb), so it probably would've been matted and messy. You aren't better than anyone just because your skin doesn't have enough melanin to battle sunburn.

I actually have! A couple years back, I took a school trip to Bethlehem. It's predominantly Muslim now, but I can verify that the people In the Christian churches had dark, curly hair, and brown eyes.

So you believe that if Obama was truly born in Hawaii, he should look Polynesian? Birtherism is a noble cause and a good start for future endeavors, but it's irrelevant today.
Joseph came from Nazareth, Bethlehem is just the place where Mary had to pull over for a pitstop.
THIS is what people from Nazareth look like:

Bethlehem's just a tourist town. And it's in Palestine, so hardly surprising that it's full of Arabs! Based on a stopover in Miami, on the way to somewhere more interesting, I did not conclude that all American women have hairy chins and speak Spanish.
The Father of Jesus was not an Arab. He was (and is and ever shall be) God.

Bro chill. The first life was in Africa. White people only exist because people wandered north. We're not superior if we aren't supposed to exist. God probably doesn't even have a human or physical form. I mean- look at the angels over here
The Bible never described Jesus' physical appearance. But based on the region where the events in the bible take place, you can come up with an idea of what he looked like. A brown skinned, brown eyed, brown haired man. Just like everyone else in that area.

So are you claiming that if my children had been born and grown up in Africa, then despite their white-skinned parents and very blond father, they would have grown up black with fuzzy hair?
You seem to have missed the point. Let me reiterate: Joseph was not Jesus's father.

This really isn't all that difficult to understand. Jesus's father was God the Father, and He is a white man with blue eyes.

but Mary was still his mother. I have no doubt that Jesus existed and died on the cross, but I don't believe in God, so Jesus would be Joseph's son. And who said god was white?

When and where was that painted? Italy in the Renaissance Era. Of course they were whitewashed. It's Italy. Jesus was literally Middle Eastern. And even if he was born fair skinned, he would've tanned from being in the desert. Skin tone is different for a reason. The melanin in skin helps protect from sunburn. If Jesus was actually white, then he would've been in tremendous amounts of pain from sunburn. But seeing as he was Jewish and Middle Eastern- along with every one of his disciples, that wasn't the case.
I get it. You want someone who you can identify with. But almost every other historical figure you've ever learned about is white. Pick one of them. Jesus was brown, accept that. Just because he had a different skin color doesn't make him any less of a person. His actions are still the same. And if you TRULY respect Jesus as you say you do, then you can respect him with a different skin tone.

Hello Miss Kaylee. There is a lot to unpack there, so let's parse what you said, I'm adding numbers to your quote so we know what we are talking about.
The Bible is our only source of information regarding points (1) and (2). What is your reason to accept the historicity of Jesus (1), but reject the existence of God (2)? If you reject the existence of God, wouldn't it make sense to reject all of the Bible as delusional - including the life and death of Jesus? And if you decide to accept the bits of the Bible that talk about Jesus as true, then what is you reason to reject the rest of it?
Now, regarding the point (3). You say you accept historicity of Jesus. As the Bible is our only source of knowledge about Jesus, and it very clearly states that Jesus was not Joseph's son, why do you feel the need to create a fan fiction in which Jesus existed and was the son of Joseph?

Well, the whole Mediterranean has been a melting pot for the last three thousand years or so, so there are Arabs who are lighter skinned than your average Italian.
Quote:

|
Well actually, people of some complexions don't tan, they just sunburn red and then go back to pale again. Genetics is much less Lamarckian than you seem to believe.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

My blond, blue-eyed children tan even in what is laughingly called "summer" in England. Does this make them non-white?
