Mr. Machine, please be not offended by my answers. The Jain people I know, we are fully aware that the things we revere are only our vision of the truth. It is like the famous story of the elephant and the blind men. Everybody is groping a different part of the elephant and getting a true vision of the animal but still they are understanding only a part. I like to think that Jainism sees into the eye of the elephant and understands that there is a soul there. Sometimes when I am reading the texts of this forum I think some Christians are grapping only the lingam, eh? I personally like to think of religions as roadmaps. They tell you advice but the road is another thing and you are still navigating by yourself.
Yes, I think we can accummulate karma, bad things for the soul. I can see that Christians are not seeing it as real. I myself am not thinking that it is material or that it is real in the sense that you can go on measuring it. It is not science. Karma is dealing with how we are living our lives. Yes! It is the same with symbols. I am not going around with a swastika. I am thinking that the association with it is unfortunate but it is a symbol, it is not my religion. And I am very secular, yes? I can remain in Jainism without the symbols.
Yes, thank you everbody for your interest. You are giving me a lot to think about and the pictures are blessed and beautiful.

There is no such thing as karma! If I do something wrong, which I rarely do, I just tell Jesus about it, beg His forgiveness, and the whole thing just goes away...forever! True Christians never suffer repercussions for past sins. Christ nullifies them one by one, just like shooting clay pigeons. PULL!!
Get right with God, lady...you'll feel like a mountain has been lifted from your shoulders! No more nagging conscience, no accountability...its GREAT!!

Yes, Mr. Hammer. Of course you are right over here and I am mistaken. Perhaps I should call karma sin over here? Yes, sin must be very much like karma, accummulating and preventing a good life. And truly, it is very difficult to follow the path to liberation getting rid of karma or sin in my religion. But I am not a strong believer. I really do not know if there is reincarnation or liberation. I am doing the Jain life for the sake of not hurting, not doing violence, trying to give others their chance without interfering. Yes, it is not too different from the teachings of Jesus, is it? Gospel of Luke, Chapter 6, yes?
Jain Sutras II, 25:24 says "He who does not speak untruth from anger or for fun, from greed or from fear, him we call a Brâhmana."

But people are always talking about "good" karma. Surely you are not suggesting there are good sins!?

Yes, Mr. Machine. People have taken the Indian word and now they are using it according to their own need. It is not the same definition of karma I or you use but they must find it pracrical. Yes,it is OK for them. It is like the green or red karma or sin that is accummulating here by my profile. Apparently my Christian karma is not good, Yes.
You are very kind to be interested in my Introduction and a brave man as you have chosen the female name Faith as your Christian name. Yes!

Oh, you charmer! Honestly, I didn't think about the gender implications of my username; I simply chose it because I like to think the Lord has filled me up with His love and made me into an unstoppable Gospel juggernaut-- a "faith machine," if you will.
Regardless, your compliments are much appreciated. What a nice, polite young lady you are.
Tell me, do you have a Web cam?

What breed of towelhead are you, again, and why have you decided to mock God by becoming a teacher? You're 23. Why aren't you going into labor for the eighth time already?

Witch Hammer, Des,
Really? No accountability whatsoever? That bodes well.
To claim females hold no rights whatsoever, to delegate them to devices of childbirth, is ignorant. Yes, I understand the bible says so, but it's beyond ridiculous. For a being with the same capacity for suffering, the same capacity for intellect, her only deficiency physical strength, is immoral. Would you really deny rights to a man because he can't bench press his body weight? Of course not, it's ludicrous. This isn't an age where a man must be physically able to till a field, nor is it an age where women are suppressed. Is it not enough that many radical Muslims have the same practices of female subjugation?

Yes. I am sorry I offended you, Mr. Hammer. Offense for another man is another man’s compliment, Mr. Machine. I am sorry if I was stepping out of line when I was discussing your username. I am so glad that you responded to it in such a chivalrous manner, yes! I am afraid that I do not have a webcam or Skype. We Jains do not want to gain too many possessions, sometimes I am thinking that my laptop is overkill...
Mr. Des, thank you for your interest! Yes. I am a graduating student of Primary Education, my grandparents came from India (Gujarati). I have unfortunately lost much of their language (it was Gandhiji’s language, as well) and culture but retain the Jain religion, although I am quite secularised. I am here learning about your world, your truths, your view to the universe and it is fascinating. Yes it is!

Mr. Baloney, thank you. You are stepping up to defend me. I appreciate it but I am not certain if it is necessary. The Christian way with women is very much like the Jain way of ahimsa, that is non-violence. You do not resist the blow but you yield to it and eventually the eyes of the attacker can be opened and he will be seeing that the violence is causing more damage to himself than to the victim. There are always two victims in violence, yes there are! But I am also seeing that you are stepping between to take some of the blows and that I can relate to. I had a pupil who was always hitting another boy. I did not raise my hand against this boy but I stepped between them and said “I see you have so much anger that you must hit someone. Please, hit me, do not hit this boy. I am willing to take your blows as long as you need them”. That is ahimsa. That is also Jesus, I am thinking. Yes. Nice of you to come here and meet me.

Your crazy talk is so out of touch with reality, I don't even know where to begin. I see you are a Nancy-boy enabler which sickens me to my very core. Were one of my boys unable to bench press his own weight I would put him down myself rather than live with the shame of having conceived a pansy.
What kind of lunatic would claim women have the same capacity to feel as men? You have obviously never witnessed the miracle of childbirth, for if you had you would know better than to spew such nonsense. Women have both decreased capacity for pain and intelligence as evidenced by the labor process. A man, with normal pain receptors, would die from the experience. If by some miracle the man survived, he would not be so stupid as to get pregnant a second time. And yet women churn the little rug rats out right and left because a) they barely feel it, and b) because they lack the intelligence to understand cause & effect, forgetting that minor discomfort they felt a few months ago was the result of childbearing.
Somebody get us an enema bag, 'cause this looney done got the Devil up in his anus!

I am so genuinely shocked by your ignorance and vehemence, I don't know how to respond. You have pushed me from ever accepting Christ, and you have given me cause to reject the baptist church for its ignorant and hateful misleadings.

Fear not, Haraha, as I am not at all offended by your kind compliments.
Now then, I would love to really discuss Jesus' plan for your life. Perhaps you could PM me your mailing address and I could have a Web cam drop-shipped to you via overnight mail?
Don't worry, we could just say the Web cam is owned by Jesus, and therefore not adding to the possessions that you own.

Yes! You are most kind, Mr. Machine. We do not share all our beliefs but you are still willing to discuss with me in a cordial manner.
Due to your kindness I would be very upset if your communications with me caused some trouble because of your superiors. I am referring to your signature. I am thinking, yes, that perhaps one of your Pastors would have to give permission for personal messages, yes?
Again, I thank you for your politeness. Angry words are one form of violence according to my religion. Perhaps we are not so different after all. This is also in your Bible epistle 2 Corintians Chapter six: "By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness". This is pure Jainism. Yes.

Yes, you are describing Digambara Jainism. They feel that women must first be reborn as men before liberation. Yes, it is so. My familymembers are Svetambara Jainists, we do not share that view.
Yes. That is true but not the thing I was thinking about. I may be Svetambara Jain in principle but I really do not care of these classifications. I am my own kind of Jain woman. But why are you taking one concept of Jainism as if it should be something I am following? Yes, I think I have an answer.
You are practising Christianity with the literal interpretation of your Bible. Yes. Perhaps it is because of this you study other faiths as if we also followed our writing literally. I do not. I do not think Jain Sutras are literal truths. They are more like poetry, inspiration. I am reading them for their beauty and symbolism. That is what I also find in the Bible. There are beautiful, blessed texts, Start of Genesis, Ecclesiastes, John Gospel. For you it must be not a roadmap but also the road. In this we can be different. Yes, you are right.
But the beauty, the blessed poetry, the dualism, the sadness of life, the suffering. Surely this is more unifying than separating. Yes! It must be. Like the kind words of Mr. Machine, blessed words. Yes.

Yes. But Yes. I understood from your answer, that you create your own religion. Yes. Oh yes, YES!!!

I have something to say to you. OH YES!
1 Corinthians 2:17
Romans 12:2
You have still time to repent. But not very much.
Your thinking means, you BURN IN HELL!!! OH YES INDEED!

Yes, Mr. Loiman-Aho. I think I understand more.
At first I was thinking that you were angry but now I am thinking that within your truth, the truth of the Bible, you are worried and helpful. You are actually trying to prevent me from damaging my soul.
I appreciate your kindness. Yes, truly. You are striving to help me avoid your hell. I am thinking that perhaps your hell is retricted to your truths. It is different with the liberation we are searching. It is mostly oblivion and understanding. And, to be frank, I am not convinced of that, either. My faith may be mistaken. Just trying to lead a life not making harm. Yes. You are doing the same thing. Trying to save me from harm. It is so sweet, honest and beautiful. Yes. Your soul must be blessed and beautiful, too. I am so sorry that I do not feel I am in need of the help. I have a different roadmap and there is no hell on that but some of the places we visit can still be the same. Sad and beautiful. Yes.
I was searching for one of your verses that would seem fitting. I am perhaps not in context with this. It is in Genesis 23. I am a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.
Yes, it could be fitting. I am still a stranger to your faith but sojourner in this Forum. I am learning. Yes, a couple of things today. The literal way of your Bible and how you are reflecting it upon others. The anger that is turning out to be care. So wonderful, isn't it? I must make a smilie.

Which kind of 'peace loving' Injun are you, the kind that rides horses and scalps Christians, or the kind whose government and citizens promote violence against Christians in Karnataka and Bangalore?
