I have never been raped and would not want to be put in a position where I had to defend my virtue. Fortunately, there are exercise and fitness programs available to the employees at Ben & Jerry's. I have been studying martial arts for seven years and work out three times per week to strengthen my pecs. I have a Black Belt in Taekwondo and am perfectly capable of handling any threat to my body.

I think it is important to realize that women are supporters of their husbands. And they are to build get other up. A husband is to treat his wife as Christ treats His bride the Church.

first of all, the passage is specifically talking to "wives" not husbands. Second, it says nothings of telling husbands to "subjugate" their wives. It is a working team that is Christ centered. Also in order for some one to respect another they have to earn that respect it is not something that can be taken. Kind of like grace. Grace is not taken, it is given.

"25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; hewho loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. ...33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband."

Your preception of a wife should be the same as Christ has for His church. His first love, His bride, His jewel. She should be built up and not torn down. Encouraged, not discourage. A precious gift not just a cook and clean. God only wants us to marry if it will bring more honor and glory to Him. He should be the main focus that are eyes are fixed upon Him. Never moving, never wavering, allowing Him to mold us into a person that glorifies God and that Christ is so evident in our lives that all the world can see is Him.
