Default Teaching my son - How to be a good mother? - 07-10-2015, 01:07 PM

Greetings dear friends,

With my dear husband's permission, I joined this forum and received a most generous and warm welcome. I am encouraged now to address one of my many concerns. I am a feeble-minded soul, even for a woman and have no brain for practicalities and academic learning. My blessed and wonderful husband works hard every day and night, leaving strict instructions on how my two perfect sons are to be educated. All I must do is read what he has left and report to him on their understanding and any questions they might have.
However, I have some difficulty. Whilst my husband works so hard to ensure I cannot make mistakes in their teaching, as they have grown, I've become less able to speak to them. When I was young, I took an oath never to speak to a man unless directly addressed. My sons are now 3 and 4 and I find myself very aware that they are male and therefore superior to me in every way. I feel entirely unworthy to be in the position of speaking to them, let alone teaching them.
I fear that I am failing terribly in my Christian duty to be a good, obedient wife and mother. I am in desperate need of advice and guidance.
How do I follow my husband's instructions, whilst respecting the superiority and far greater intelligence of my sons?

Timothy 2:12

' I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.'

Please help me to continue my Godly pursuit of serving my family and my Lord. Should I request a daily punishment from my dear husband to atone for my sin in speaking to his sons? Would that be enough? Should I ask my husband to instruct my sons on how to punish me also? If I must speak to them, should I not be disciplined and corrected for it?

In service of our Holy Father,

Faith

Hello Faith, and welcome to our friendly forum!

Your sons are 3 and 4 years old, right? They're not men yet, dear, and your authority is perfectly valid at this age. Indeed, if you do not extend your authority over them, they risk becoming stubborn, rebellious, and disobedient. Then your options will be limited to the size of rocks used to administer Divine Justice (Deuteronomy 21:18-21). I don't know where you live, but here in Freehold, we don't allow children to get away with disrespecting the Word of God and risk incurring His Mighty Wrath upon us all (2 Chronicles 7:14).

I still remember the time Old Man Hatchet led the stoning against that retarded kid who wouldn't stop skateboarding down Main Street and screeching like a police siren. He gave everybody a headache, but not as much as his mother who, God bless her, tried to get in the way and got a broken nose, two black eyes, and a concussion for her troubles.

But anyway, what does your husband say to do?

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Hello ma'am,

Thank you for your reply. I feel much better already. My husband, poor dear, is ever-tired of my questions. I seem to have so many and I drive him quite mad. I think he has stopped listening, quite understandably.
He tells me only to do my duty and disciplines me because he feels I should not need to be reminded of what that is and that it is my own fault for not knowing the answer. He is quite right, of course. He is such a blessed man to endure being burdened with such a dim wife.

I shall take your advice and try to view my sons as children rather than future men. I have had no experience with male children before, I was my parents youngest and only daughter, so all of my brothers were grown long before I. I do hope I shall not fail. I should hate to be forced to withstand the sight of my children being stoned to their death in the knowledge that my failings lead to their unforgivable sin.
I am expecting my third child and we pray that we will be blessed with another boy. I fear that, for all my inexperience with boys, I would be at a loss to deal with a girl or...Lord forbid, a retard. The thought makes me quite sick.

We are cursed to live currently in England, but I am lucky that my husband keeps me safe in the home. I cannot tell you the dreadful stories I hear of this place. We hope soon to relocate back to America, where my dear husband and my parents are from and where we might be safe.

Thank you again for your kind advice. I shall try my best.

In service of our Holy Father,

Faith

I'm in a rush and have just had time to read the title. Let me tell you - there's no way on God's Earth that you should try to teach your son to become a good mother!!!

Must rush - please send your husband's phone number so we might discuss this disturbing turn of events.
