An armed officer who stood outside a Florida school where a gunman killed 17 people last week "certainly did a poor job", US President Donald Trump says. Deputy Scot Peterson resigned after an investigation found he failed to confront the suspect. Mr Trump said Mr Peterson might be a "coward" who "didn't react properly under pressure".

This is precisely why we need teachers to confront gunmen. If your armed guard declines to approach someone firing a machine gun at them then it's time for the chemistry teacher to step up. It's only a shame Donald himself couldn't be there to take a bullet, but - as you know - his bone spurs preclude him from engaging in activities that may protect the American people.
As
you recall in Reno during one of Trump's speeches when someone in the crowd didn't have a gun, Trump rushed off the stage - presumably for the very manly reason to get more guns and take the suspect down in man-to-man combat. That's how to handle yourself under pressure, folks.
