New Neighbor Invited Me to Jog -

After the woman across the hall died three weeks ago, the building was quick to clean it and rent it again. My new neighbor, Troyquan, asked me today if I wanted to go jogging with him and I told him that it was against my faith.
The Bible tells us that the wicked run when no one is chasing them. (Proverbs 28:1) Thus, if I run in a similar fashion, this might make me look wicked. I also quoted scripture that said bodily exercise profits little. (1 Timothy 4:8) He just looked at me as if I was some kind of fool.
I don't think Troyquan and I are going to be friends.
After our conversation, I walked down to the corner deli and got a triple decker pastrami on rye and a couple of knishes with mustard. I prayed the Lord would edify it to my body's needs. Jesus is faithful.
Proverbs 21:31 KJV 1611:
“The horse is prepared against the day of battell: but safetie is of the Lord.”
Lord, may I serve my equine brothers and sisters just as I do my fellow man. Amen and Amen

Quite right, Larry dear. (What you said to this churl, I mean, not the way he looked at you.) For future reference, there is a useful British English expression, "jog on", used to tell someone to get lost. It is rare for me to recommend anything British, but it might have been appropriate here.
I have absolutely no idea what a knish is, but I do fret about your diet in New York. Please be sure to take care of yourself.

I think we both should pray for Brother Larry, Sister Joanna. Living in that den of sin, he is worse off than hunter-gatherers, scavenging daily for something that would even resemble food. (And I'm pretty sure a "knish" is not it).

'Jogging', is that what nigras try to do to avoid being shot? Like zigging and zagging? But in a more jiggtiy manner?
I blame the liebrals for forcing section 8 housing in decent areas. They need to keep them where they belong.

Jogging is not running. By your definition, walking would be a slower way of running.
As portrayed in the Bible, quoted by Brother Larry, only the wicked run when nobody chases them. But why could not Brother Larry jog, if it is not running?
The answer is in the Bible again. Of course.
Because a man does not jog. A man sprints. Sprints when is needed. Sprints when there is danger. Jogging is something women do to watch their weight.
Manly man sprints are necessary when, as an hypothetical example, some latin junk steals something from a white damsel.
There is no special cloth required for sprinting. But for jogging, yo must wear tights. It is required and you can check it just by going out to the nearest street.
Deuteronomy 22:5 - The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so [are] abomination unto the LORD thy God.
Have you read Deuteronomy today? I read a little bit of it every day. It helps to stay fit in religion issues, which is what matter the most.

The very verb “jog” seems to me to have unwanted and ungodly connotations – short, thrusting motions.

Proof, if proof were needed, of the wisdom encapsulated in the verse in 1 Timothy that you quote.
Running fast is fine if you are jigaboo (or should I say “ jogaboo” ) with a stone who is hunting for an elephant to throw it at or whatever it is they eat. However, if you shop at a supermarket like normal people, the advantage of being able to run 10 miles seems to be somewhat obscure and certainly has no salvific value.

Pastor Bathfire, I once overheard a group of horrid, unwashed local teens making jokes about something called "horizontal jogging". I had no idea what they were snickering about, but now I fear that I do.
I really wish I hadn't realized this. I shall pray that I can forget it.

it's obvious that you should be jogging side-by-side with your friend. This will satisfy the concerns that you have. It's good to have an exercise partner to help motivate you. This sounds like a really good opportunity.

Slow run, fast walk. Either one you prefer. and you don't HAVE to wear to tights/leggings or even shorts. You can wear jeans or a skirt if you want, but lighter clothing keeps you cool and from sweating. Who knew? And jogging is not something only women do to watch weight, men do it to. Both genders jog, both genders run, and both genders lift weights.
