I suppose it couls be practical if is very very sweaty and hot like we are get in Spain in summer- my sister's and me sometimes did this when we was visit granparents house in the country in summer when we was younger, like teenagers for help us coll ourselve off a little in hot summer evenings.

But if is pre-Christian I suppose is bad.

Is OK if is innocent like whit my sisters and we is vert hot all over?
