Bomb Day 341: 1 Thessalonians 1-5 - 11-26-2016, 04:27 AM

Finally! A congregation that actually consists of True Christians™, follows the instructions of Paul, stays strong in Faith and is, in fact, so Spiritually Mature, that the only change can be into the worse! The Thessalonians, Paul's Bestest Friends! As a consequence, in Chapter 1, Paul cuts his CV and credentials short and goes straight to the business of praising the Thessalonians.

1 Thessalonians 1:6-7
And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.

For those less literate of us, the "ensamples" is the KJV way of writing "examples". Glory! Let us go on to Chapter 2. Paul continues his praise of his very good friends, the Thessalonians. They are much better than the Philippians, for ensample (your humble Bible scholar can also be witty!). The Thessalonians are probably so good because Paul was such a skillful preacher of the Gospel when he came to them.

1 Thessalonians 2:5-7
For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness: Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ. But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:

In addition, Paul never ever abused the Thessalonians' hospitality.

1 Thessalonians 2:9
For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.

By being extremely good Christians™, the Thessalonians also suffer persecution.

1 Thessalonians 2:14
For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:

But, Glory and Praise Jesus, this is coming to its End (more about that just a tiny bit later). The persecutors are finally getting their fair share and God His Revenge, although Paul does not delve into detail yet.

1 Thessalonians 2:16
Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

In fact, the Thessalonians are so excellent that Paul really would like to see them again. He would have, actually, but his plans were crushed by Satan. Similarly, when True Christians™ fail at something, it is not our fault but the fault of Satan or a test by Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 2:18
Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.

In Chapter 3, Paul explains how his another bestest friend, Timothy, visited the Thessalonians and, in a manner totally unexpected by the swarms of false Christians that we have met throughout the other Epistles, the Thessalonians are still True Christians™ and remain strong in faith.

1 Thessalonians 3:7
Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:

Then suddenly, things turn serious. Apparently, the Thessalonians are mature enough to learn the final mysteries about Jesus Christ. Similarly, when reading the following Chapters, we as True Christians™ are shaken to the bone and sinew by the Revelations: Paul starts to tell us about the End of Times.

The. End. Of. Times.

Second coming. Keep the Faith! The End is Near!

1 Thessalonians 3:13
To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

The End is Near. It is more important than ever to keep the Faith. The Thessalonians are immaculate True Christians™. Still, it is better to be safe than sorry. Paul warns them against sex acts, the worstest sins imaginable. It's time to tackle Chapter 4.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-5
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:

With the word "vessel", Paul refers here, e.g., to the male rectum. Instead of sex, the Thessalonians should continue to exhibit love among brothers.

1 Thessalonians 4:9
But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.

Why all this preparation and vigilance. It's time for the Big Reveal. How is Jesus going to come?!

1 Thessalonians 4:17
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

The Lord = Jesus. He's gonna come quickly. This is the short, concise version of the events that accompany His coming, the long version is going to appear on these pages shortly with the Book of Revelation. Next: the Most Importat Event Ever.

1 Thessalonians 4:17
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The Rapture. Those True Christians™ (=us) who are alive shall rise alive up into the clouds alive to be with Jesus for ever, while the others shall suffer (see above for 1 Thessalonians 2:16). When oh when?! Chapter 5 gives us more data about the date and time.

1 Thessalonians 5:2-3
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

When the unbelievers and false Christians feel safe, when they least expect it, Jesus will come and start smiting them! This is a glorious promise that will be delivered in more detail in the Book of Revelation (coming soon to a Forum near you). We must be vigilant 24/7 to catch the Rapture. Hitherto, Paul has mostly dealt with congregations that are on the verse of falling into False Christianity. Now, finally, he's instructing us, True Christians™ on how to spend our last few final days before the End of Times event horizon that is the Rapture. Our duties are many but the most important of them is to be in a non-stop state of readiness to jump into the air to meet Jesus!

1 Thessalonians 5:6
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

How to accomplish this state of being constantly prepared? It's easy.

1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray without ceasing.

During this incessant prayer, it is good to remember Paul.

1 Thessalonians 5:25
Brethren, pray for us.

And it is good to kiss your male friends in Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:26
Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.

Next Time: More Glories of Second Coming and How the Sinners Will Suffer!

Yours in Christ,

Elmer

2 Kings 18:25 - Am I now come up without the LORD against this place to destroy it? The LORD said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.
