When Jesus encountered the people you describe He did not say "Oh, look - these people are not demon possessed, they have an illness or condition that needs to be cured" did he? I am not expressing a "theory" here, I am quoting scripture. Now I understand that you disagree with Jesus but that doesn't change what He said. When people held erroneous views Jesus always corrected them. Additionally He often healed people and He continues to do so today, but the demoniacs you are talking about did not require healing. They required exorcism. That is how we know that Jesus was telling the truth.

He gave us a terrific manual for living, it is called the Bible. No where in it does it say to coddle a child.
