My beloved Brother, while salt is probably considered as food by deer (that's why they sell these large blocks of salt to the hunters, isn't it?), from human perspective, it is merely a condiment.
Please don't take my comment as a correction of your statement, and if you wish to still maintain that salt is food, you made my Christmas shopping list a bit easier - instead of some excellent bison sausage, I'm going to give you a block of rock salt as your Christmas gift!
