Where Have You Been? -
09-17-2007, 01:19 PM
a lamentation in free verse by a sinner begging alms
from God, writ on this very spot, without a single edit after.
He is Perfect.
Oh, I wish to ask of You, where were You
My God, where you were when I was in green fire
Of falsity, led astray by the Miami Mystic. You
Were not my savior there. Horror of my mind
And mott'ling flesh, rotting months in Doral West.
Oh God! I did lose my faith in You. Until just yesterday.
Spit out I was, from the d----'s maw. I left her kinder *
There as well: those lost souls, of which I was
One once. No more!
Where have You been?
Dear Jesus I am !
Home!

Brother Peter! WELCOME HOME, TRUE CHRISTIAN™
And you know what? You still got it! Hallelujah!!!!!
About the best I can do is, "What is, is. What ain't, ain't."
(I've been saying it for a long time now and so can only hope it refers somehow to JESUS.)

Re: Where Have You Been? -

I can't tell you where I've been. Elders are debriefing me.
So do not ask more about that, woman.
It was a terrible time. For the first five months, though, I actually enjoyed it.
No, that wasn't -me-. It was some loathsome remnant of my old Congregationalist-self that They caught.
The fact is, I was sent on a mission to infiltrate a cult out west of the Miami airport. The leader....
Didn't I tell you to quit badgering me for data, woman?
---
The downfall began when I met with and began to interview the leader. His eyes were like green fire, like emerald zirconias, only scarier. Yet, I was soon transfixed.
I should have known by that experience decades ago, while still in high school, when a hypnotist was brought in to retrain hyperactive children.
I was told that inside of thirty seconds, I was drooling on mesmerist soles.
I have no personal memory. Indeed, much of the past six months draws a blank.
Now quit prying into Church matters, woman!
---
Praise the Lord for retrieving me again. I know now it was all done for some purpose.
When I regain my wits and mem'ries, oh, what an exposure will transpire, and SMITE the satan in his lair, with the almighty truth of Jesus, my Lord.
And sister, I hope he's your Lord too--and what does God say about women in wrestle against men's stronger minds?
Why, if only...
damn these sickular laws of emasculated men.
No more of this matter. until the book is ready.

The footprints blasphemy poem, would have you believe,
"It was then that I carried you"
However, everyone knows that when Jesus is carrying you, that things are great.
These past 6 months Jesus was probably spending that time comforting pResident Bush, and didn't have as much time for you.
But with the nomination of Michael Mukasey, we see that Jesus has time to bring you back.
PRAISE HIM!!!

Thank you Brother V. It means so much to be home again.
I feel that I know what Jesus looks like today:
HE is tall and thin and from Haddam today.
And His first name is actually spelled with an H.
But do not be concerned that my sanity is not yet in surfeit;
a footbath, some Epsom, some scripture, some verse;
and I shall soon make sense again.
Thank you, Brother V.

Thank you sister. May I note?
By your beautiful portrait I see that you have blossomed in my absence
as does as well the pear upon your fruited trunk
So nice to see you all again.
I feel the love of Christ's children, all.

I'd like to think a thought through it

Well, sir, what shines the quarter is that ode I have fresh-made for you in a nearby space.
Yep, you were way ahead of the pack in alternative fuel technology in my imaginary (but not far from the truth!) re-casting of your life in an earlier time.
The best poet that ever wrote for the USA was Edgar Allen Guest.

This was my grandfather's favorite poem. He was a farmer, and he was a commie.
SOYBEANS
The October air was warm and musky, blowing
Over brown fields, heavy with the fragrance
Of freshly combined beans, the breath of harvest.
He was pulling a truckload onto the scales
At the elevator near the rail siding north of town
When a big Cadillac drove up. A man stepped out,
Wearing a three-piece suit and a gold pinky ring.
The man said he had just invested a hundred grand
In soybeans and wanted to see what they looked like.
The farmer stared at the man and was quiet, reaching
For the tobacco in the rear pocket of his jeans,
Where he wore his only ring, a threadbare circle rubbed
By working cans of dip and long hours on the backside
Of a hundred acre run. He scooped up a handful
Of small white beans, the pearls of the prairie, saying:
Soybeans look like a foot of water on the field in April
When you're ready to plant and can't get in;
Like three kids at the kitchen table
Eating macaroni and cheese five nights in a row,
Or like a broken part on the combine when
Your credit with the implement dealer is nearly tapped.
Soybeans look like prayers bouncing off the ceiling
When prices on the Chicago grain market start to drop;
Or like your old man's tears when you tell him
How much the land might bring for subdivisions.
Soybeans look like the first good night of sleep in weeks
When you unload at the elevator and the kids get Christmas.
He spat a little juice on the tire of the Cadillac,
Laughing despite himself and saying to the man:
Now maybe you can tell me what a hundred grand looks like.

I trust he was nothing to do with Uncle Rummy's side of the family?
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.
God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.
