Comic Strips I Find Objectionable -
08-31-2010, 08:52 PM
Hägar the Horrible
Hägar is a Viking and a faithful family man, which is the only laughable thing in this aptly-named strip. Vikings and sexual temperance are mutually incompatible. The salacious Scandinavian would rape Momma if given the chance.
The naughty Norseman also has an umlaut in his name. Umlauts are nearly as suggestive as diphthongs and have no place in a family newspaper.
Brenda Starr
The title character is an investigative reporter and has many steamy romances. In other words, she's a nosy whore. She has a shapely figure and gorgeous gams, which has caused many innocent men to have wicked thoughts. These poor, weak-willed fools have probably had fantasies of sleuthing with Brenda Starr and bringing a mysterious and evil kingpin to justice. Then, after several glasses of celebratory champagne, Brenda seductively removes their pipes from their mouths with her teeth and investigates every inch of their musky, septuagenarian bodies with her curious tongue.
Broom Hilda
Not only does this strip make the reader "suffer a witch to live," it also makes him or her suffer through painfully bad jokes. Even if Broom Hilda weren't a witch, I'd like to see her tortured and burned at the stake.
Prince Valiant
There's gay, and then there's Prince Valiant gay.

Excellent research, Mr. Hatchet. I'm curious about your thoughts on Alley Oop. This paean to Darwinism is about "CAVEMEN", like such things actually existed! I don't recall the Bible saying anything about Adam and Eve encountering savages like that.

I have mixed feelings about Alley Oop as well as the similarly-themed B.C. While both suggest that the Earth is older than six thousand years, they depict man and dinosaurs coexisting, which supports the Creationist view.
Of course, B.C. also has clams as currency and a scantily clad cavewoman, both of which are offensive.

Archie Comics welcomes first gay character
There has been a number of gay characters in comic books since Marvel Comics opened the door with Northstar in 1992. But now a new level of acceptance has been reached–beloved comic series, Archie, is adding its first gay character.
Send / Share
On September 1, Riverdale High will be introduced to KevinKeller, the hunky gay blonde with a V-neck and perfectly coiffed hair. Archie Comics Co-CEO John Goldwater said, “The introduction of Kevin is just about keeping the world of Archie Comics current and inclusive. Archie’s hometown of Riverdale has always been a safe world for everyone.”
Kevin will first appear in Veronica #202. His first story line will solidify his sexuality, finding a polite way to turn down the persistent come-ons of Veronica. Kevin even entices Jughead by challenging him to a burger eating contest at Pop’s Chocklit Shoppe. At least we know Kevin can handle large amounts of meat.
The introduction of Kevin Keller marks the first gay character in the series’ 69-year history.

Comics are inherently a morally degenerate "art" forum. Who makes comics? Artists!
That's right, you child's entertainment is made by some sick, smock wearing friend who spent years of his life drawling naked women.
Needless to say this means almost all artists are gay and infected with the HIV virus. One just has to look at Deviant Art, discussed here, to see what kind of madness goes threw the minds of an artist: furries, gay sex, tentacle rape and slasher pictures.
It would be kinder to a child to rape and murder them yourself rather than let them read a comic produced by an artist.
Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

All your exampels are horrible, but in godless Scandinavia we have a comic addressed to children called Bamse.
In one of the latest editions not only have two gay rabbits moved in together (grey and black in bottom right corner), they have also adopted an orphant little rabbit.
I may have to tell you that this comic book is addressed to children age 5 to 9.
This is such abomination I simply can't find words for it...
Disgusting..

I think Calvin and Hobbes is the only comic strip that I don't think Jesus would find objectionable.

A strip promoting bestiality and you see nothing wrong with it? I hope your parents do not allow you to be close to the pets.

Why would you think that? Calvin and Hobbes teaches kids to disobey their parents, go off on their own, and imagine some pretty "Out there" stuff (Aliens, Food monsters, themselves being the savior of the world.)
It also makes babysitters (which are supposed to protect your children, and make sure they don't do anything stupid (take a parents job)) look like complete mormons that don't deserve any respect.
The little brat deserves plenty of punishment, yet his parents give him petty punishments.
Nowhere in this comic does it mention Jesus or the word of God.
I can go on, but the list is countless, and you think Jesus wouldn't find this objectionable...

How on earth does it promote bestiality?! If anything, it shows how humans and animals can co-exist without having to kill each other. Nothing bestial about it.

Of course it does look at where Calvin is starring when Hobbes is lying on the ground.
Leviticus 20:15 And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth
Proverbs 19:25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
Ezekiel 16:14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.
Proverbs 6:25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
Genesis 24:16 And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
Song of Solomon 1:15 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes.

Catholics aren't Christians. They worship Mary.
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

One of the more vile cartoon strips to grace the pages of America's newspapers was "Li'l Abner". Started by artist Al Capp in 1934, it was responsible for creating the stereotype of Southerner Baptists as witless dumb hayseeds. In the cartoon town of Dogpatch, U.S.A. the perpetual characters Li'l Abner, Daisy Mae, Mammy Yokum, Pappy Yokum, Fearless Fosdick, Shmoo, and Joe Btfsplk were portrayed in a drunken stupor from moonshine known as Kickapoo Joy Juice.
Of other notable cultural influences leading to the later feminazi movements in the United States, and to the general malaise and foul comportment of women today, was a character named Sadie Hawkins. "Sadie Hawkins Day" became an annual event all over America for over four decades, until eventually being replaced by today's wanton fornication, wide spread "hook ups", and one night stands.
Quote:
Sadie Hawkins Day
Sadie Hawkins Day, an American folk event, made its debut in Al Capp's Li'l Abner strip November 15, 1937. Sadie Hawkins was "the homeliest gal in the hills" who grew tired of waiting for the fellows to come a courtin'. Her father, Hekzebiah Hawkins, a prominent resident of Dogpatch, was even more worried about Sadie living at home for the rest of his life, so he decreed the first annual Sadie Hawkins Day, a foot race in which the unmarried gals pursued the town's bachelors, with matrimony the consequence. By the late 1930's the event had swept the nation and had a life of its own. Life magazine reported over 200 colleges holding Sadie Hawkins Day events in 1939, only two years after its inception. It became a woman empowering rite at high schools and college campuses, long before the modern feminist movement gained prominence. The basis of Sadie Hawkins Day is that women and girls take the initiative in inviting the man or boy of their choice out on a date, typically to a dance attended by other bachelors and their aggressive dates. When Al Capp created the event, it was not his intention to have the event occur annually on a specific date because it inhibited his freewheeling plotting. However, due to its enormous popularity and the numerous fan letters Capp received, the event became an annual event in the strip during the month of November, lasting four decades.

Your innocence is refreshing, but aren't you being just a wee bit naive?
Quote:
Many furries will tell you that, even before they knew what a furry was, they had furry-esque traits as kids (such as an obsession with stuffed animals or exclusively animal-themed imaginary friends). Calvin definitely shows some of those traits in the form of his pal Hobbes. There are also his repeated fantasies of being a dinosaur. There's also the Story Arc where Calvin tests out what life would be like as a tiger like Hobbes, including dressing up in a costume (fursuiting); it supposedly turned out badly, but it could also be interpreted as Calvin's insecurities about "coming out" with his furriness overwhelming his furry pride. That also means Suzie is Mr. Bun, but that gets weird.
