How can you, ignorant as you are, say this about Finland and our culture? Since the first few posts it was obvious that you have no clue as to what you are talking about. Calling scandinavians eskimos and mocking us for having such a cold climate that a rhino wouldn't survive in a zoo immediately gives away your lack of knowledge. How can you take someone seriously that is so misinformed and badly educated as you?

How very rude. You have some serious issues, young lady.
I have no idea why people come here and try to troll us. If you don't like it, just close the browser and move on. We don't come disturbing any walrus worshiping forums you might have. I wrote small warning for True Christian™ parents in True Christian™ forum. Then what happens. 70 thousand Eskimos runs in shouting "Look at me! Look at me! I am right, you are wrong! This does not concern you a least bit, yet you come here and blame us for God knows reasons. Why are you Eskimos are self-absorbed and vain? It was you people who dragged poor Rhinos in this conversation anyway.

This isn't about 'life', this is about the eternal afterlife. Let's face it: Jesus or Moomins.

Moomins are popular in Japan -

That is in fact the reason why God decided to cause the recent earthquake which killed 20,000.
Be careful with the forces of darkness.

Thank you for your input, friend.
Now please introduce yourself in our Introduction Forum, like all other new visitors, as forum rules require. Tell us about your church, your family and your favorite Bible Verse, and be sure to read this before you start trying to persecute us.
Sweet Lord Jesus,
I want to pray for those who persecute me, my Lord.
Please, treat their children as you treated those of Egypt, when they upset you! (Psalm 135:8-9)
Dash their little children against the stones for their fathers iniquity! (Psalm 137:8-9)
Hit them on the cheek, and smash out their teeth! (Psalm 3:7)
Make their death and descent into Hell swift and terrible! (Psalm 55:15)
Scatter their broken bodies over the streets of their evil cities, like Benghazi, Amsterdam, Tokyo and Mecca! (Psalm 110:6)
Praised be Your Glorious Name™.
Amen.

I am a Finn and I can testify that it is all true.
Finnish people are Eskimos. They eat disgusting foods such as rye pudding and liver casserole. Finns are mostly not very likable.

Actually Finland has just 100 more cases of alchol related disorders (per 100 000 inhabitants) compared to Sweden. Not that much compared to some other countries.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Al..._-_WHO2002.svg
The rest I'm not even commenting because I'm sure as a Swede you know how the things are in Finland. Pretty much the same as in Sweden.
Anyway, that was quite off topic in my opinion. I think the original Moomin comics were quite scary and there were some things that were questionable at the least. They were definitely not for children.
But the books (not the comics which even I don't like - and I'm a finn!) actually have quite a bit of nice philosophy and the books are simply full of love and giving (not in the sexual way). The cartoons are mostly made by Japanese and just very, VERY loosely based on the original books written by Tove Jansson. I think you can find bad things in everything if you look hard enough but I think in this case, when looking at the cartoon and the books, the good things out do the bad ones.
But again, this is just opinions. I don't think Finnish kids are not posessed by satan or whatever just because they watch Moomin. They (and American kids too) also watch Diseny movies with cruel people who just want to hurt others, talking animals, magic and other things and they are still perfectly fine - and if they aren't it's not because of these cartoons/movies.

Friend, you cannot just adapt a demonic concept like the moomins and turn it into something "good" and "full of love." The very nature of the comics is evil.
Think about it like this; if anyone made a comic book about Satan, and made Satan do things like helping elderly women cross the street and donating to Ethiopia, would that comic book then be good? Of course not! Why? Because it's about Satan!

Friend, I must remind you that a Japanese adaptation of anything whatsoever cannot possibly be less revolting than what it originally was. We are talking about Japanese here! Why do you think God send an earthquake and a tsunami? Because He was very angry! Would you like Him to do the same to Finland?

Thank you, friend, for your honesty. The only thing I think you should take a little more care of is your grammar. Jesus cares very much about grammar, you know:
Matthew 5:17-19:
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

I hate Juice, loved you introduction.
True Disciple, Sometimes I just have to wonder what a great level of geography education you have in the USA. Luckily I know you are just kidding, right? ...Right? Please say so.
And have you ever even read a Moomin book? Or watch an episode of Moomins? Maybe you should. Not as a nice bedtime story but just for having more knowledge in this. Or isn't it weird to have a certain opinion without even knowing anything about the subject (but the things you've heard). If you have, great, I accept your opinion because opinions are opinions and we all have one. If you haven't, your arguments aren't really that good, are they?
There's many opinions on why or how the tsunami and earthquake happened and mine's not the same as yours but there's no need to fight over ths.
Oh, and I think Paavali did all the grammar mistakes on purpoise.

I read only the Bible, thank you. We should not add to God's Word by following additional philosophies:
Deuteronomy 12:32:
What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

What? I certainly do have an opinion about the moomins, I though I made that clear. What are you talking about? Have you been eating too much tundra lichens?

MisterM, No, I'm not. I just think that to have an real opinion and valid argument you should know more about what you are talking about. If everything you say is based on what you've heard from others, it's not your own opinion. It's an opinion that someone else taught you. Do you get what I mean? And I sure do know I have my faults and I wish you would tell those in respectful manner. I haven't pointed out anyone's personal faults here so I'm quite suprised that you even started to talk about them. But anyway, please do tell me.
True Disciple, Sorry, I really though you knew we actually do have cars and roads and stuff. It's great that you read the Bible and you sure should continue that. Reading is always good. And I say the same thing to you what I said to MisterM, to have an opinion you should have more knowledge about the subject. But honestly I don't think Moomins are thing worthy enough to fight over. You two can sure have your opinions, it's OK. It's just that I find it funny that you have an opinion on something you don't know really that much. It's like saying you hate icecream because your friend said it's bad and milk makes you fat.
I'm sorry if I've hurt someone's feeling on being here, it's most definitely not my intention by any means. I'm just here to discuss just like you. And maybe along the way I might get some more info about Christianity and Jesus.

I know exactly what I'm talking about. You just don't get it? You are in a road to hell. Facts are facts. Tove was a lesbian and therefore burns in hell. Muumins where trolls, originally they even had horns and devils tail. And you dare to say that they are just innocent children books?
Only innocent book for the children is the holy bible!

MisterM, Well it's fantastic if you know what you are talking about. Good for you. No need to get upset. I just had to ask to know. I'm not asking this in a mean way or anything, but isn't there any Christian books for kids? When I was a kid I had a children' book about a girl who loved god and I really liked that book. And I've been brought up as an atheist. See, I'm not all that bad.

At first glance it might seem so. But as the more wise fellow Christians have later reminded, most of them are advertising lutheran or catholic faith. And what could be worst?

"Moomins are mainly curse of Finland (where they have turned children to Satan for nearly 70 years) and northern Europe"
Hi. Im young man from Helsinki, Finland. I like Moomis very much, and have been watching those in early years also. I think i have not turned to satans child, as not have any of my friends either. Many of us belive in many odd things, but i think nobody really worship satana, as you worship jesus. I belive in humans equality, respecting nature (we are also part of nature), freedom and peace.
Im not so afraid to go to hell, because i dont think that im going to heaven either, or anywhere else. Actually i dont know. If there is some kind of intorregation at the moment before i slip from this conciousnes, i still can stand proud and say "when i really first time meet you, i started to follow myself. But im only un-perfect human".

MisterM, You mean that no true Christian has written an acceptable children's book? That's interesting. And I know I will not burn in hell and it's not up to you to judge anyway, right?
