Buonasera!
Althought I don't live in America and I've never put a feet on the American soil (let alone Topeka's soil), by looking at your rival Church who preaches Hyper-Calvinism and protests everything they see with signs and musical parodies, something came to my mind: who is to blame for its existance?
The first thing that came to mind to the average Atheist is: "
Religion! If it weren't for Religion they would not exist!" Of course, we all know that's an excuse for attempting to prove that Reddit is somewhat better than going to Church. At least in a Church you give money to people who talk about something. But anyway, let's continue.
Christ-Killers and anyone who hates Our Lord and Saviour will say instead: "
Christianity! They represents all Christians in the world!" But they forget that the rest of Christians despise the Westboro Baptists (be it for the right reasons, or the wrong ones).
We Catholics, knowing who is really to blame, will say: "
Protestantism! If Luther didn't cause the Western Schism, no one would have to bear them!" Now this seems to be the correct answer. However, most Protestants (be it Lutheran or Anglican, Episcopal or Presbyterian) despises them. Let's go further, then!
Most people who identify as a Protestant then will point out: "
Baptists! They are Indipendent Baptists and acts the same way!" But other Baptists (including Landover Baptists of this forum) have condemned many times the actions of Westboro Baptists, and consider them as heretics.
But then, people will remember: "
Calvinism! They are slaves of the false teachings of John Calvin!" The average Calvinist will of course deny that Calvin was an Hyper-Calvinist, but of coure none of his moderaten "followers" has ever meet him. So that's settles it: It is all John Calvin's fault for interpreting the Bible and St. Augustine writings in his own way and deceiving people in believing that we have no Free Will and God decides everything we do.
Some will say that it's also St. Augustine fault for writing what Calvin decided to interpret as "No Free Will", but I'm not allowed to criticize him.
I'm very sorry that Fred Phelps had to waste his whole life by creating a cult that damaged him and his own family and made them look like clowns. How sad must have been for him meeting in the Afterlife the person who destroyed his life without even being able to warn his family members about the falsehood of Calvinism.
Thankfully, they thaught us to not be around Calvinists, or they will infect us.
