Fellow Christians, many of you are already aware that nearly ten years ago, the Chinese banned a dangerous cult: Falun Gong.

It has been gaining adherents right here, in the United States!

A History of Falun Gong

The "ancient" cult of Falun Gong (also called Falun Dafa) is nearly as old as the venerated Wicca, having been started by a Northern Chinese waiter named Li Hongzhi in the early 1990s.

Tagging onto the then-growing popularity of Qigong, a form of moving meditation not unlike Tai Chi, Hongzhi crafted his very own New Age cult. Onto this fertile rootstock, he grafted Buddhist breathing exercises and Taoist philosophy. The result? Falun, or "Wheel of Law", which he called the "path to perfection".

The Chinese people, long separated from their traditional demon-worship by the Communist Party, leapt into this cult with astonishing vigor. In a few short years, Falun Gong followers matched the Communist Party in numbers.

Shortly after Shanghai television announced that Falun Gong had over 70 million Chinese followers, Hongzhi left China for the United States. And just in time!

1999 came, and the Communist Party announced its findings about Falun Gong . . . that the exercises were dangerous, causing insanity, and inducing suicide among the young!

Cultists were outraged, and began holding massive protests. In July of 1999, the Party took the only step it could, banning the cult.

It's just some meditation, what's the big deal?

That's what I thought, friend.

Tell me, if it was "just meditation", why would people be willing to be arrested, and imprisoned, and beaten, and tortured over it? Hmm? Why not just take up yoga instead, or maybe Pilates?

Clearly, there is more to the "path to perfection" than Li Hongzhi is letting on.

Rick Ross, respected expert on cults, provides his assessment:

Definition of a Cult


Noted psychiatrist and author Robert Jay Lifton developed the following definition of a cult. This definition is focused primarily upon three principal criteria and was first published in a paper titled "Cult Formation" in 1981 :

1. a charismatic leader who increasingly becomes an object of worship as the general principles that may have originally sustained the group lose their power;
2. a process of coercive persuasion or thought reform;
3. economic, sexual, and other exploitation of group members by the leader and the ruling coterie.

Falun Dafa and Lifton's three criteria

* A charismatic leader who increasingly becomes an object of worship.

Exclusive claims made by Li Hongzhi, which are implicitly accepted by Falun Dafa practitioners without exemption, are the defining principles of the group.

For example, "Master Li" purportedly possesses supernatural powers.

Mr. Li claims to know "the top secret of the universe" and says "no religion can save people" but the "almighty Fa," which he exclusively represents. He is therefore essentially the chosen savior of man. The biography in his book "Zhuan Falun" claims that he first recognized his special powers at the age of 8.

Li Hongzhi's teachings also include the spinning "falun," which is a mystical "wheel of law" that he claims to be able to insert into his disciples' abdomens telekinetically.

Such fantastic and exclusive claims about a leader fit the classic profile of a personality-driven cult.

Falun Dafa followers, believe that Li Hongzhi is always right and they are not allowed to question the basic assumptions concerning his purported supernatural powers, teachings and/or opinions. His authority and infallibility appear to be absolute for the true believer, and therefore beyond what Falun Dafa followers consider reasonable doubt.

Persistent critics of Li Hongzhi and Falun Dafa have been repeatedly subjected to personal attacks, threats of litigation and frivolous lawsuits.

Li Hongzhi remains an absolute, authoritarian leader with little if any accountability, and there appears to be no limit to the scope of his personal power and influence within Falun Dafa.

Sociologist Richard J. Ofshe explains, "Coercive persuasion and thought reform are alternate names for programs of social influence capable of producing substantial behavior and attitude change through the use of coercive tactics, persuasion, and/or interpersonal and group-based influence manipulations."

This is accomplished according to Ofshe by "intense interpersonal and psychological attack to destabilize an individual's sense of self" and "to promote conformity" within the framework of "an organized peer group."

Li Hongzhi through Falun Gong has promoted unreasonable fears about the outside world, such as impending catastrophe, evil conspiracies and persecutions. He teaches his followers that the earth would have been destroyed, but he saved it. He also claims that "gods" will destroy those he disapproves of and that his followers must practice his prescribed program of "spiritual cultivation" or risk obliteration.

For Falun Gong followers, there is no legitimate reason to disagree with and/or leave the organization. Former followers are always wrong in leaving, negative, or even seen as "evil." While they may appear to be free to leave they often fear the consequences.

Mr. Li asks his followers to continuously keep "cultivating" and go on and on "cultivating" until they reach "perfection," something that no one can ever realistically hope to achieve as an ordinary man and woman within their lifetime. Such perfectionism is then supposedly deferred and only reachable in "other dimensions."

Li Hongzhi's program of coercive persuasion largely relies upon the cultivation not only of unreasonable fears but also prejudice, which ultimately serves to isolate and control his followers. "Master Li" manipulates the thinking and feelings of his followers to develop a certain seemingly predetermined and desired mindset.

In Mr. Li's worldview mixed-race people are part of a plot, contrived by the evil extraterrestrials. "By mixing the races of humans, the aliens make humans cast off gods," he told a gathering in Switzerland in 1998.

"Mixed races" are supposedly excluded from the "truth" and "have lost their roots, as if nobody in the paradise will take care of them. They belong to nowhere, and no places would accept them...the higher levels do not recognize such a human race."

According to Mr. Li, the offspring of mixed race unions are therefore "intellectually incomplete" or "with an incomplete body." In such cases, only he, Master Li, can help and "take care of it" (i.e., resolve the "incomplete" state). However, that can be done only if "such a person wants to practice cultivation."

Li Hongzhi also encourages hatred of homosexuals. He has said, "The disgusting homosexuality shows the dirty abnormal psychology of the gay who has lost his ability of reasoning at the present time," Li Hongzhi wrote in Volume II of "Zhuan Falun," or "Turning the Law Wheel," which was translated into English in 1996.

In his talk in Switzerland, Li Hongzhi also stated that gay people would be "eliminated" by "the gods." Asked in Frankfurt, Germany, in 1998 whether gays could practice Falun Gong, Mr. Li answered, "You can cultivate, but you must give up the bad conduct."

Li Hongzhi's disciples are taught to subordinate their own thoughts and feelings to the teachings of Falun Dafa. They essentially come to believe that "Master Li" has arranged everything and is their protection.

In describing her experience with Falun Dafa, cult expert and clinical psychologist Margaret Singer said that a practitioner will "actually say 'Don't Think. Just recite the Master's teaching.' "

Among Falun Dafa's many questionable mind-altering practices, this command to "stop thinking" and continuously "recite the Master's teaching," when heeded, meets the main criterion of cult control American communication researchers and cult experts Flo Conway and Jim Siegelman describe.

* exploitation of group members by the leader

Former Falun Dafa followers, the families of devotees and others concerned often relate the same allegations of abuse, which reflect a similar pattern of grievances.

Mr. Li teaches his followers that illness is caused by the evil deeds of a sick person, in this life or a previous one. According to his teachings, modern medicine treats only the symptoms of a disease, and not its underlying spiritual cause, which can be cured only by practicing Falun Gong.

"The only way to find yourself comfortably free of illnesses," Li Hongzhi writes in "Zhuan Falun," "is through cultivation practice!"

The complaints I have received about Falun Dafa are most often directly related to teachings about "spiritual cultivation," which may preclude seeing a doctor and/or taking prescribed medication.

As a result of such teachings some of Mr. Li's followers have reportedly died due to medical neglect, while many others have needlessly exacerbated their medical conditions.

I have also received serious complaints within the United States regarding the damage done by Falun Dafa through family estrangement. This has particularly occurred when families question and/or are critical of Mr. Li and his teachings.

It should be noted that "Master Li" has apparently accumulated substantial assets through his work within Falun Dafa.

Mr. Li moved to United States in 1995. In 1998 he reportedly bought a house in New York for $293,500. Li Hongzhi purchased his second residence in New Jersey for $580,000 the following year. The value of the two residences today may easily exceed a million dollars.

What can I do about this dangerous cult?

If you see anyone practicing Falun Gong in a neighborhood park, call the police immediately. Ask your neighbors about Falun Gong, to see if perhaps they are secretly involved. Warn those who aren't involved about the dangers. As the Communist Party realized, these people are taking part in a conspiracy to take over our nation and wrest it away from Christians like you and me!

Bear in mind that it is entirely possible that Hongzhi is working with demonic forces to undermine America. Do not approach these people by yourself! Let law enforcement and/or a Pastor handle the situation!

Read your Bible daily, and do not read any Falun Gong materials or watch non-Christian TV stations. By continually devoting yourself to the Lord's Perfect Word, you can focus on your own path to Heaven, and you will be protected from Li Hongzhi's mind control efforts!

That would be Aum Shinrikyou (Chink Gibberish Deleted) and that is a Japanese doomsday cult. That is very dangerous and is now known as Aleph. This cult in this topic is from China and the leader Li Hongzhi is insane. He changed his birthday to the birthday of the Buddha Shakyamuni (the historical Buddha) and he made pictures of himself as Buddha. I would like to say that no matter how crazy the Falun Dafa ideas sound, you would be better to support them than the communists, who will not grant anyone the right to practice your denomination of Christianity within the Chinese government.

Falun Dafa is not anti Christian, but communist china is.

My Brother, they do more than trafficking in MSG. They are a major cause of traffic accidents, with their slow driving in the fast lanes and failing to use turn signals.

Jiang Zemin is considered the key person responsible for the persecution of Falun Gong. And they are afraid of dissidents and losing control over people, The government wants to be able to control peoples minds too and instill them with party culture and thinking. On page seventy-nine of his book, Poisonous Deceit, the author writes,
“Jiang is the Only Leader to Slander Falun Gong”


“You see, at the same time Jiang ordered his henchmen to slander, torture, and murder
innocent Falun Gong men, women, and children, he also managed to garner a less than
flattering reputation for the nation of China. As a result, people everywhere think of China
as “the land of religious persecution,” “the nation that no one trusts” or such similar terms.
Anyway, Jiang has brought untold embarrassment to the people of China—this is a fact.
Jiang has not been able to gather any support, sympathy, or respect from any leader
of any nation on this Falun Gong issue. Why? Because the villainous deeds Jiang commits

1) initiate and order the brutal torture of practitioners using the most inhumane means ever

electric batons will. How? By putting the batons in the puddle of cold water that the
practitioner is lying in and electrocuting them until they either wake up, or simply die.

3) allow prison guards to put lit cigarettes on practitioners' faces, mouths, and private
parts. They even use sharpened stiff wire to pierce women's nipples in the most sadistic
manner.

4) lock up practitioners in cages so small that they can neither sit nor stand for weeks and
months on end; providing no facilities for bathing or using the toilet.

5) allow the guards to put human excrement on an already dirty cloth, cover a
practitioner's mouth with it, then wrap tape around the head to hold it in place over the
mouth while the practitioner is handcuffed to the bars in the cell.

6) handcuff practitioners behind their back, throw a rope over the top rung of the jail cell
bars, attach it to the handcuffs, hoist them up off the ground, and leave them there for days
or weeks at a time. An average person could take no more than 1-2 minutes of this torture.
While they are suspended in mid-air, the guards routinely beat them mercilessly.

7) allow the systematic rape of imprisoned female practitioners, that is, throwing them
naked into jail cells filled only with violent male criminals.

8 allow guards to take practitioners, strip them down to their undergarments, throw cold
water on them in the height of winter and then toss them into the snow, taunting them with
these words, “If you die it will count less than a dog's life. We have orders to count it as
a suicide!”

9) allow guards to throw boiling water on practitioners' bodies.

10) force practitioners to drink corrosive disinfectants or chemicals.

11) force practitioners to squat in the same awkward bent-over position for days at a time.
One hour of this torture would make most grown men wail in pain.

12) tie practitioners to a flat, cold metal bed, dump cold water on them and torture them
for hours at a time, forcing them to urinate and defecate right where they lie. This torture
can last for days on end.

13) handcuff two practitioners back-to-back and leave them standing for days or weeks
without bathroom facilities; forbidding them to move or even close their eyes.

14) allow the guards to take practitioners and force them to stand three inches from a wall
staring straight ahead, perfectly still, for many, many days in a row, without sleep. Anyone
who dares to move, ever so slightly, is savagely beaten and shocked with 30,000 volts.
The guards employ inmates to take shifts to make sure the practitioners do not fall asleep,
close their eyes, or move their bodies at all.

15) permit prison guards to ransack practitioners' homes and steal anything they want,
anytime they want, without requiring a search warrant.

16) force educational institutions, including high schools and colleges, not to admit Falun
Gong practitioners.

17) force the public to sign petitions denouncing Falun Gong.

18 force work units to turn in Falun Gong members or risk high fines.

19) permit police officers to extort huge sums of money in the form of fines anytime they
catch practitioners violating the illegal “laws” Jiang has enacted.

The fact that the rest of the world experiences Falun Gong as something good, while only
China experiences it as something bad, explains this whole Falun Gong issue in just a few

Falun Gong (Falun Dafa):


Falun Gong is one of the 84,000 cultivation disciplines in the Buddhist School. Cultivation practices have existed in history for a long time in Chinese culture, because every civilization always believed in gods and have valued virtue as fundamental of being human, and have put great importance to moral character. From what I know, Falun Gong originated from Falun Xiulian Dafa, it was passed down to a single disciple throughout history because it had strict requirement on character and great inborn quality. Li Hongzhi was taught by masters of the Buddhist and Daoist school at a young age and became the successor. He redesigned the practice so that it can be publicized and to allow the masses to practice and cultivate, Falun Gong was founded in 1992 by Li Hongzhi. Afterwards, Mr. Li has lectured on almost every major city in China, and years later lectured abroad in Europe, Australia and North America; and still goes to experience sharing conferences by Dafa students that takes place once a year. One of greatest improvement reported from practising Falun Gong is from health, because there are five different meditative exercises that are for refining your body.

Falun Dafa focuses on character cultivation. Character cultivation is when you improve every aspect of your character; which includes getting rid of the various attachments(fame and gain), desires, and character flaws people have. Cultivators are supposed to gradually achieve this. At the same time allowing you to assimilate to the universes nature that they refer to as [Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance]. You see practitioners emphasize this message a lot. I read that they say all matter has this nature and it is the thing that judges who is good and bad.

The book Zhuan Falun is the main teaching of the practice that is mostly studied. Seems to me a lot of emphasis is put on cultivation practice and evaluating your actions based on Zhen-Shan-Ren (True, Good, Endure). How you can be a good person. Mr. Li Hongzhi says Falun Dafa isn't a religion but future generations will regard it as one. Falun Dafa doesn't have religious formalities. From what I know, there is no donations, members list, churches, hierarchies, ceremonies and worships. In different regions there is study and exercise groups you could join, and you could read all their books online. Each person is a member of society like everybody else, who has a family and job; there are some who like to do volunteer work for Dafa. I think what counts is your heart for cultivation. When you cultivate, you try to be a better person and improve your character and take material things, desires, attachments, fame, gain, the things people are so attached more lightly, so your heart isn't a selfish one. When you do things you measure it using the guiding principles - Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.

In the East, even though Christianity uses religious forms in society, it can still be called cultivation too. I noticed Christianity relies a lot on faith, and when you pray to God and talk about your wrong doings or confess, and try to do better next time, your improving your character, and it is cultivation too. Religions are good if it can achieve that kind effect, teaching people to be good, and raising societies moral standards.

Founder Mr. Li Hongzhi:

Just letting people know there are lots of rumours about Li Hongzhi, his assets, the amount he makes. Many things, most of them came from the Chinese Government. He labels almost every religion out there a cult – including Christianity. He targets mostly new religious movements.

Sure, they're persecuted . . . but all they have to do is give up their ridiculous superstition and instead turn to Jesus (or even Tai Chi, for cryin' out loud), and they'll be fine!

I think it was that mixed race people aren't accepted by other kingdoms of Gods, because each human race belongs to a different cosmic body and if a race is mixed they will have no place and won't have a place in the heavens.

It was in one of his lectures held in different Fa-Conferences that usually takes place once a year around the world, the purpose is for students to share their experience so other can find their shortcomings and improve, it's also an opportunity for students to ask the teacher questions. Its not found in Zhuan Falun, the main teachings that practitioners always study. That's why I linked the book so you could see for yourself.


Falun Gong is accepted all around the world, for it's teachings of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The link about awards you removed had hundreds of proclamations from governments around the world. There are photos and signatures from them.


The things about aliens was also brought up in one of his Fa-Conferences. I think it mentioned something about almost the entire human race has a layer in their bodies created by aliens. So the things that modern human beings invents goes according to their plans and invention, the idea is that aliens want the genetic code to obtain and clone a human body because they find that the human body is so perfect, and it is so as it was created by Gods. It's mentioned that they came during the industrial revolution, that's why the technology of this period of civilization is different than any other civilization.

The founder has never said he demands to be worshipped. But in cultivation practices the teacher is referred to as Master (shifu) and the students are usually disciples. And in Zhuan Falun, it mentions something in chapter three that the formalities of kowtowing and worshipping are of no longer any use in this time period, what matters is your heart and effort you put into cultivation.

What do I think of these 'assertions'? Well these were made among the community of cultivators, and it wasn't made public for spreading hate towards any group. So I don't think its a problem. In fact, if you read Zhuan Falun and accepted its contents, a person who begins his cultivation will eventually make it that far as he continues practising and searching for Falun Dafa material. By then he will probably be a person that lives according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance; who have obtained the Fa or Great Way

They were getting people to practice "energy healing". People were coming into contact with low-leveled beings from other Dimensions and you all know the danger that could bring. At this point, maybe some of these Qigong practitioners would listen to Christians and completely get out of that. But most would not, and the reason is that Qigong has the ability to heal illness and most people who practice have serious illnesses or arthritis they need to heal. It just came to my attention that this cult is named after the Swiss metropolitan region of Falun.

The town is on the edge of a disaster, a chasm that has been opened up by God to swallow this least Godly of all human habitations. Is this going to be re-cycled (once we have the New Heaven and the News Earth; Revelation 21:1) as the chasm between Heaven and Hell? It is highly likely that it is. Thus, we now know that this falsely idyllic metropolis will be on the HELL side of that Gulf!
