Everyone knows children at Landover Baptist are trained up in the faith and expected to have children themselves who stay in the faith. "Family Relations" experts warn that when children leave the faith of their parents relationships are often strained.
Landover Baptist and Freehold Public Schools work together. LBC hammers in the tenets of the faith and Freehold Schools reenforce this teaching. Children grow up frightened by the very thought of leaving LBC.

I know that some religions, for example Jewish Orthodox, shun and disinherit lost children. The child no longer exists so far as the family is concerned.
