I am simply amazed at how the LORD works for His Glory!
My sister has a degenerative knee disorder. She recently hurt that knee and her hip when her knee buckled on her in the shower. She's been in agony for the last two weeks. Sunday as she was leaving church, she slipped on the ice on the way to the car and couldn't even get up. She ended up going the ER.
They discovered she hadn't broken any bones, no torn ligaments or anything of a serious nature that would require surgery. She's waiting on the ultrasounds to rule out blood clots, and she's nervous about her knee buckling on her again.
When I saw her the other day, she had tears in her eyes because of how painful her leg is from knee to hip. She's has to use a cane to help with walking.
Friends, my sister is stubborn.
But oh, the LORD is even more so!
You see, my sister belongs to one of those liberal churches, the kind that think it's okay to choose homosexuality if it's a monogamous relationship. The kind that teaches that God wants everyone to go to Heaven, and so speaks to each person in the "language of their own heart." They teach that abortion is a shame, but the infant's soul will be in Heaven forever and so a woman's "right to choose" is the important thing. I've corrected her and corrected her time and time again. I've read to her pertinent parts of the Holy Bible. I've prayed with her and for her for years, but she laughs it off. I've talked to her children, but she's taught them to ignore me. I told her that God would not be mocked, He will
not be made a fool of (Ezekiel 7:27).
Because of what happened last week, I can see how this is the LORD's pay back. I have tried to warn my sister about paybacks being nasty. I am trying so hard not to laugh at my sister. It's just that she's so funny to watch as she's trying to use a cane! She won't listen to me about how to use the cane, and she won't pray with me because she thinks this is just a coincidence and not a God-incidence.
She reminds me of a goofy, big old goose waddling down the lane, or when a clumsy young horse walks on snow the first time, what with those high steps and an uncoordinated use of it's legs and not wanting to put it's feet down but having no choice!
Seeing her struggle doesn't make me want to laugh in a mean way because it's not
my revenge, it's a total God Thing. It's just funny like the slap stick comedy type funny. It's great fun to watch, knowing the LORD is in control at all times.
My husband says it wouldn't be a bad thing for me to laugh at my sister, as she's laughed at me a ton over the years.
God is good all the time, all the time God is good!
He is the shepherd that has looked for His wandering sheep so many times, that He's decided to break her little leg so she can't wander far. Being a stubborn fool, she still hasn't figured this part out, which makes me giggle all the more.
Praise Jesus, what a wonderful Shepherd we have!
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way;
and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Isaiah 53:6
