For some reason I'm always the last one to get the strategy memos, so I have to figure out their content by myself.
First talking point: veterans don't exist:
From
Slate magazine:
"it was the Democrats who saluted, mourned, and celebrated the “fallen angels” and “wounded warriors” of the U.S. military. Romney observed no such ritual, leaving Sen. John Kerry to note, in his speech Thursday night, never before had a wartime nominee for president, of either party, “failed to pay tribute to our troops overseas in his acceptance speech.”
Second Talking point: Bin Laden never existed:
Bin Laden was mentioned
21 times by name in the Democrat Convention, not counting appearances in bumper stickers:
Talking point #2:
Iraq doesn't exist:
According to a University of California, Santa Barbara archive of formal campaign speeches by both candidates, Romney has used the word "Iraq" seven times on the trail (usually in the context of military service) while Obama has referenced the country 76 times (often as part of a stump-speech line about keeping his promise to end the war). The same pattern held true at the conventions: Republicans mentioned Iraq seven times, while the Democrats did so 34 times. Romney didn't talk about Iraq in his convention speech and made only a passing reference to it in his biggest foreign-policy address of the campaign in South Carolina.
Why?
Well, we can't mention the veterans because, now that they're not being useful acting as "flypaper" for muslim bullets, they are going to turn into homeless,
drunken, no good veterans, the kind that we have to avoid eye contact with when you leave your gated community (My son's private school has tutoring specific to this subject.)
As warriors, they are forced by law to be completely obedient to us. But as veterans, they can go off and do whatever without being charged with desertion. They'll expect job creators to hire then just for being veterans. And they're going to want entitlement money for their purple-heart-scratches, John Kerry style, and on and on.
They even start voting for democrats.
Iraq can't be mentioned because it was a laboratory test of what happens when you have republicans build a government from scratch according to conservative doctrine. Same reason
Scandinavia is never to be mentioned, since it's a laboratory test of what happens when only liberal policy is enacted.
