I've never watch much TV, but right now I'm in Canada for some surgery, and while I sit here and recover there's nothing to do but watch Canadian TV. And it is weird. Especially the toilet paper commercials, which have some very disturbing undertones.
One involves a family of cartoon bears who wear shirts, but no pants. The kid sits on the toilet reading a newspaper. The kid gets up and the voiceover says something about whether the kid's butt is "ready for inspection". Remember, this isn't a toddler, because it was reading a newspaper. It seems in Canada, they inspect each other's butts for stuck bits of toilet paper. It's a faux pas, like dandruff on your shoulders:
Wait, if stuck toilet paper is so bad, why is the adult bear so happy? I'm starting to think this has nothing to do with stuck paper!
Other brands brag that wiping your butt on their paper feels like wiping your butt on a kitten. Or a puppy. I can't judge, I haven't wiped my butt on either.
The more I think about this the more disturbed I get.
