Bathsheba Was Not "Me Too" -
10-15-2019, 11:55 PM
Sometimes I'm so disappointed in our Christian community. Today I learned of a raging debate about what happened between King David and Bathsheba.
In 2 Samuel 11 you can read about how David spotted the bathing Bathsheba. He liked what he saw. He sent aids to get her and she became pregnant. He then sent her husband to the front lines and he was easily killed.
It's hard to believe but some so called Christians are saying David raped her against her will. Bathsheba had the choice of rejecting the most powerful man in the world. Women always have that choice. Sure, she might have been killed. But ultimately it was her choice to have sex with David.
These Christians in name only don't seem to recognize that portraying Bathsheba as a victim is exactly what Satan wants.

Thank you, Mayor Hold. In the Bible, women who are role models know their place, and understand a man's needs. The tale of Bathsheba is like that. That woman knew exactly what she was doing, when she was washing herself in the privacy of her home, but in plain view from the royal palace's roof. She was flaunting her body in front of the king.

There are plenty of examples of rape (Judges 21:10-24) in the Bible (KJV1611), and if this (2 Samuel 11) was one of them it would have said so. This alleged "controversy" is coming from known Bible deniers.

Greetings!
I am not one who often gets involved in questions of theology but I believe that in this case it would be best if white people do not get too involved in matters concerning the sexual proclivities of Black people. King David was a powerful Black king of the Jews who were Black men from Africa. Bathsheba was a Black Jewish woman who was married to Uriah who was an Arab so naturally she desired the attention of a Black man and since David was the King so much the better. Jah felt it was necessary for the Hittite Uriah to be killed because he stood in the way of Solomon's birth and his rise to be the King of the Jews. This is not a case of rape and white people should not be upset that there was sex because Bathsheba was not a white woman.

You Negro people are always claiming the ancients were Negro. The Bible says Jesus was in the linage from King David. Jesus is white. It makes no sense whatsoever to claim King David was a Negro.
The origin of Bathsheba is suspicious. That she displayed herself nude in order to seduce the King makes her seem of questionable linage and upbringing.

Indeed, she must almost certainly have been of dubious upbringing. But contemporary portraits and sculptures of Bathsheba show her to have been a very fair-skinned woman, if a little on the podgy side (though I'm told some men like an ample woman, so perhaps King David was among them?) and somewhat arthritic about the knees.

A lezbean couple named Betty and Bathsheba lived in my building for a few months last year. I asked Sheba (she liked to be called that) if she was aware of her name being Biblical. She looked at me funny and said “No it isn’t. It’s Arabic.”
I had intended it as an opening to witness of Jesus and His saving power but instead I just walked away.
Proverbs 21:31 KJV 1611:
“The horse is prepared against the day of battell: but safetie is of the Lord.”
Lord, may I serve my equine brothers and sisters just as I do my fellow man. Amen and Amen

If you have the misfortune to meet here again, you might point out that in Godless Europe, Sheba is the name of a brand of cat food.

Like in anything in life, there is a difference between a same thing done by a Christian than a non-Christian.Is not only rape and murder (the two most obvious God-sanctioned activities that will either send you to Heaven or Hell if they are sanctioned or not by God Himself). It is also slavery: having slaves for a Christian it is a God-given right. But if we see those chinks enslaving Hong Kong people, we shout "Freedom" loud. Having guns is for us, a muslim country should be nuked back to the stone age if we suspect they have weapons we have.
It is not a double moral standard. It is the way God intended things to be. Who are we to discuss God ways?
1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the TRUMP of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

Christians have always relied on leaders who say, "It's my way or the highway." King David was one. That he wanted Bathsheba was his right and he ran over anyone in his way. Same thing with Constantine the Great. He wanted Christianity to replace Paganism. Done.
Today we have President Trump. His policy is clear, "It's my way or the highway." If Bathsheba were alive today he would send someone for her. God wants him to have whatever he needs.
