Preacher Matt Powell is no True Christian™!

On the surface, Powell seems to be in tune with the mind of God regarding homosexuality, at least according to this article.

“As far as homosexuality goes, I believe the Bible puts the death penalty on it,” Powell said.

Examined carefully, though, that statement turns out to be some weak tea. Why would anyone who has read the Bible equivocate with the expression, "I believe" when there are numerous verses throughout God's Word that clearly lay down the law on capital crimes such as homosexuality?

Even worse, however, is Powell's declaration that he, "believes in humane executions."

Does this supposed preacher of The Word believe in "Godly" executions, or some vague "humanist" standard?

Ultimately, what we believe or don't believe is of no consquence to Almighty God. He was Lord and King of Everything before we were created. Billions of people on this planet do not believe in Him at all. Does that make Our Lord and Savior less real?

God saw fit to enscribe stoning as His execution of choice in His Holy Word and He spelled out quite clearly which offenses of His Law are punishable by death. Start suggesting alternatives on the first and you may as well regard the second as mere suggestions as well.

When are people going to wake up and stop saying stupid things about morality and criminality that they claim are supported by the Bible?

If you claim to be a preacher of God's Word, then make certain that what you preach squares with God's Word. Don't play fast and loose with the words of the Bible. They are scripture, not jazz.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination

Leviticus 20:13

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.


I have highlighted the word "blood" in black (ironically) to emphasize God's position on the means of putting to death those who enage in gay sex. When's someone's own blood is splashed over their dead body, the likelyhood that they were licked to death by kittens is remote.

So, to all those so-called followers of the Bible like Matt Powell, just read the words on the page. God doesn't need you to extrapolate on subjects in which He has made Himself abundantly clear.

I was filled with emotion as I read your obviously God-inspired post. As a person who walks with the unnaturally affected every single day, I am amazed by those who believe homers should be given a light smack on the hand. Not me! I believe those who find themselves dabbling with sin should be SPANKED. I personally have spanked several men while ministering to their needs - and guess what! The earth moved. Their cries to God were overpowering. I could just envision the devil fleeing - and that's why I won't stop showing my love in its fullness so that heaven is full of fabulous decorators to glorify my Jesus. Heaven will be adorned with the Glory of God and He will be pleased with the work of saved homers.

I am always thankful for anyone who shows compassion and mercy, that it is the attribute of God. This minister must be a true believe if he "believes in humane executions" as you say.


I have seen terrible YouTube videos of gay men in Iran struggling in agony as they hang slowly from a crane or low hanging type platform, this is truly a terrible punishment and nothing that any true Christian would ever want to be a part of.

Look, I will support whatever legislation is brought by our Godly President Donald J. Trump (), because as a Christian, my duty is to support the laws of the land where I live. If they are taken to the punishment room, is because they misbehave. So they had it coming.

I am not sure they had it "coming to them" but the punishment was extreme and severe, no need for it and it was eventually stopped by a more "Humane" approach to corrections, instead of the punishment model.

Much of the abuse was carried out by guards and the prison trusties who reported to them. Devices similar to the Tucker Telephone have been employed up to the present day. A Tucker Telephone was allegedly used in a Chicago violent crime unit managed by Lieutenant Jon Burge to torture suspects during the 1980s. During the Vietnam War, some American GIs reportedly converted their field phones into torture devices, and something like the Tucker Telephone was used by American interrogators to torture Iraqi prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison.

To be clear I am against the persecution of gays, or any other minority group. Hell, I don't even advocate the death penalty, but for crying out loud it should be at least humane if it is used.



Just look at places like Iran and North Korea where their human rights violations are horrible.



While I've got you here on the forum, someone keeps putting things on my profile, changing my profile and saying terrible and untrue things about me, humiliating me and exaggerating what I have said in the past, this is very unfair to me.

Oddly enough this group is very very important to me and I have not always expressed myself appropriately or communicated accurately how vital this forum and the forum members who are communicating with me . . . how important they all are to me.
