God Reserves the Right to Damn Us All. -
04-04-2012, 02:16 AM
In His infinite wisdom, God thought to insert a clause in the Bible that damns those who obey Him.
Quote:
Ecclesiastes 7:16
King James Version (KJV)
16Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself ?
|
So there is such a thing as being "overly righteous". This means being perfect must be excessively good. So we can be damned for being perfect. Yet, we are also commanded to be perfect, by Jesus:
Quote:
Matthew 5:48
King James Version (KJV)
48Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
|
And we are told that we must obey everything He commands us to do.
Quote:
Ecclesiastes 12:13
King James Version (KJV)
13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
|
So even though we might do everything God tells us to do, if we wind up in Hell anyway, we have no right to complain.
God is so mighty.

Amen, brother.
God damns us all, because we richly deserve it.
God tells us that our so-called good works are as filthy rags to Him. God knows that we deserve to be killed and sent to hellfire and be tortured in unspeakably horrible ways for all eternity. He KNOWS it. We are responsible for all manner of vile, putrid sin.
Quote:
Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
|
And yet He offers us Salvation. God sent His onlybegotten son to temporarily suffer and die for my sins. Just imagine that.
Can't someone shout GLORY for me?
Due to iniquities of men, Jesus temporarily suffered a brutal human torture in the hands of barbaric Roman soldiers. He was repeatedly kicked, mocked, and spat upon. He was whipped with blades that ripped His flesh. Crown of thorns was fitted unto His head with force. He was forced to carry the heavy cross even He was brutally wounded and weak. His hands and feet were nailed unto the cross which was dropped into the hole in the ground. He hanged on the cross with His nailed hands and feet for six hours before He died. Though innocent, He endured all of these sufferings that were very hard to imagine because He love us. He temporarily suffered and died for the forgiveness of those who will believe in Him as He didn't want to take away your free will to choose otherwise.
It's all our fault that He temporarily died!!
But He did it for me. To wash my filthy, vile sins away, even though I don't deserve it. I deserve hell.I was born a sinner but Christ's temporary sacrifice has made me FREE!

I think God means that you have to be perfect, but not be a dick about it. You know how some false Chrstians act like they're the only ones who are going to Heaven and they lord it over everybody like they're poop doesn't stink. I think those people are the ones that God isn't going to let into Heaven, not True Christians™ like us.

That's a good point, Brother. God is going to damn everyone that disagrees with us. I was just admiring the fact that, if He were to damn us, that would still be Godly. If He were to damn everyone that He ever created, it would still be fair, because He is God and we are His creation. I see no reason why God shouldn't create something just to torture it for all eternity. Since He is the measure of all that is good, unto Him and those He might not torture, that is just His prerogative. Especially in light of THIS Godly thread.

Amen brother, amen. The fact is, the very existence of hell is tangible proof of God's love.
Quote:
Rom. 9:22-24: [What] if God, willing to shew [his] wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

Praise God for His sweet tendermercies!
All throughout the Scriptures, a recurring theme is that God either wants you to join Him in Heaven, or He wants you suffer unspeakable horror for all eternity in the fiery pits of hell... your "good works" be damned!
For my part, having bathed in the BLOOD of JESUS, I will fear Him and obey His Word (Deuteronomy 13:4). There is nothing more we can do; all the rest is in His hands. May He make His face to shine upon us.
Romans 9:15-16
For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
II Thessalonians 1:7-9
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power
The man who is being progressively sanctified will inescapably sanctify his home, school, politics, economics, science, and all things else by understanding and interpreting all things in terms of the Word of God and by bringing all things under the Dominion of Christ the King. -R.J. Rushdoony

Amen!
Even if The LORD of Lords sends me to Hell (which He won't), still would I worship His Holy Name!
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

AMEN! You are just like Job, which surely means God will multiply your blessings. Either that, or He will torment you ruthlessly and without cause. In either case, He is the proper object of worship, because He is the standard of all righteousness. Amen, Sister.

It all boils down to faith.
I have faith that God will do with me exactly as He chooses and I will know in my heart that He is the ultimate arbiter of goodness and any decision made by Him is by definition the ultimate expression of his enduring love: whether I go to Hell of Heaven.
They very fact He commits some of His valuable infinite power to asigning me a position in the grand scheme of things tells me He loves me and if His desire is for me to be tortured for all eternity I can be sure in the knowledge that He is doing it because He loves me.
The best analogy I can think of is the loving husband who corrects his wife: how often will the loving husband exclaim 'you made me do this' or 'do you think I like hurting you?' or 'this hurt me more than it hurts you' or 'you are nothing without me' or 'I'm the only one who really loves you'? All too common, I'm sure you will agree.
If God corrects me like that FOR ALL ETERNITY His love for me must be endless.
Glory!

Amen brother. I was just thinking of how loving it is for God to allow His beloved creation to wander blindly into Hell. It is just like the time my firstborn wandered into the kitchen and started to reach for a pot of boiling water. A liberal parent, with no appreciation for the free will that God gave us, would stop the child, impinging upon its freedom. I, on the other hand, allowed the toddler to ignorantly pull the boiling water down over his own head. Now he is disfigured for life, a reminder that his father loves him and loves freedom! God is the same way, except God doesn't have to lift a finger to stop it. He shows such restraint. And God will pour boiling water over your head for all eternity.

Our GOD is so good!
Time and again the Bible tells us how unworthy we are, and the fact that GOD chooses to keep us around and give us yet another chance to please Him only serves as evidence to the whole world how much He cares!
PRAISE HIM!

I wake every morning, knowing perfectly well of Gods disdain for all of us.
Each day begins with a scowl from Him that I must tirelessly work to prove is undeserved. I go to bed each night knowing that I failed Him and as I pray before closing my eyes, I hope He is listening and does not kill me in my sleep. I only know if He heard me when (if) I wake the next day to His thunderous anger.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
