With Christianity in the spotlight now more than ever, atheists have become emboldened to criticize the Faith of Christ and villainize those who embrace It. They do this for selfish and demonic reasons. They find it amusing to wreak havoc and chaos on civilization initially, but ultimately they seek to support Satan in his conspiracy to lead as many souls away from Jesus as they can.
As a mother to many, many children, I pride myself on keeping up with the culture of today’s youth. This takes more than a passing knowledge of social media lingo, it requires understanding the mindset of the impressionable young person. I want to share with you some featured arguments that have become very popular with the atheist crowd for the sake of pulling our children out of the faith. It is my hope we can come together and share more information like this so as to keep our youth safe from atheism: The culture of death.
Atheistic claim:
Christianity is just one of thousands of man-made religions created throughout the history of mankind, and like each and every one: Here Today Gone Tomorrow.
Truth:
Christianity is not a religion, it’s a relationship.
To the sinner it appears to be nothing more than a tenuous relationship where you work your whole life to convince Jesus not to burn you for eternity after you die (John 3:18). That’s one way to look at it, but another way is to look at it as a fun challenge! How can you respond to a loving outreach from someone whose face you cannot see, whose voice you cannot hear, whose touch you cannot feel? How can you make sure your response will please Him? It’s like a lover’s game, where He leaves clues for you and you must get them right to avoid HIs Wrath (Matthew 10:28).
Atheistic claim:
Christians have double standards. This makes them hypocrites and encourages hostility towards those who are not a part of their ingroup.
Truth:
Christianity is Love personified!
Nothing promotes the Faith of Christ like the humble, kindly True Christian™. And nothing catches the sinner’s attention more than seeing how True Christians™ are ever so humble, and yet consistently enjoy privilege, power, affluence, and obedience from the masses. It’s not a mystery (Joshua 1:8). Oftentimes Satan conspires to keep these blessings away from the True Christian™, but always in vain (1st John 5:18). We are not afraid to claim what is ours. We are entitled to Jesus’ blessings and no one can take them away from us (Isaiah 61:9)!
Atheistic claim:
The Bible buttresses a misogynistic, racist religion that supports the privilege of a small priestly class at the expense of all others.
Truth:
We are all are equal before God.
The world of men fights itself in the name of race, economics, politics, liberty, control of precious resources, and all kinds of fleeting things. These are the petty squabbles of the world, but in the Body of Christ we are all equal before Jesus (Galatians 3:28-29). Women have different functions than men for example, but humility and gratitude prevents us from getting uppity. Potter and clay and all that (Isaiah 64:8; Romans 9:20 - 9:22). We are blessed to have been created with a human soul, and not as a fly, a dog, or a Jewess.
Atheistic claim:
The Bible can’t be counted on because everyone interprets it differently. You might as well try and learn how to be a good cook by decoding the magic ring from a Cracker Jack Box.
Truth:
Christ will speak to your heart.
Your mother or father or your pastor will help you understand how He communicated, what He communicated, what He means, what He wants, and when He’s disappointed in you. The Bible tells us Jesus is right there with the True Christian™ (John 14:26). It only looks confusing to the outsider, but that is a feature, not a bug (1 Corinthians 1:18). Through faith, all things are possible, and that is especially true for discerning Christ’s many Clues of Communication in the World.
Atheistic claim:
God is a bully and a tyrant who coerces subservience and loyalty under penalty of eternal torture.
Truth:
Jesus doesn’t punish mankind nearly as much as we deserve, He therefore is entitled our loyalty and adoration.
Jesus demands loyalty and complete compliance to His Will (John 14:15). Many unchurched people mistake this for the tyranny of some cosmic bully or narcissist. Narcissists love themselves for their own sake and believe no one else is as good as themselves. The difference is with Jesus, it is true that no one is as good as He is. And it’s true that He has the Divine and Moral Right to punish each and every sinner excruciatingly each and every day. Every day He doesn’t is a testament to His Mercy. And to His patience. But don’t worry, He’ll get Justice (Revelation 9:16–19).
