Small Acts of Christian Kindness -

A lot of folk out there think that small acts of kindness are what Christianity is all about. Of course, this was not Jesus’s complete message and he never insisted that you do this sort of thing, but His doing medical miracles (at a time when there was no medical insurance or real hospitals and every man and his brother had boils, blindness or a sudden attack of death) were examples of small acts of kindness. And there being a lack of blindness and boils, and being as the dead now go to heaven (or elsewhere) I am thinking of other acts of kindness.
I mention this as I see that we have no post where we can mention our good deeds. Now I know you will say, “What about Matthew 6:3-4, which clearly says ‘M't:6:3: But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: M't:6:4: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly’?” And I respond “This is not alms I’m talking about, it is reports of deeds that may help to dispel the false accusations that Landover is in some way cruel and intolerant and give inspiration to other members of the congregation.”
To summarize, I am offering a place in which we can give examples of how to help people.
I mention this as yesterday I was outside Walmart when I saw an elderly woman deep in tears. I approached her and, amid her wailing, she explained that she had lost all the money for her vacation to Florida. So I gave her $100 there and then. Now this is not something that I would normally do, but I had just found $2,000 in the parking lot.
And do you know, I felt good about that small act of kindness the whole day. I encourage you to do the similar.
