I think your friend should be commended for allowing the child to become an expert marksman and practice on simulated heathens. However, the boy should be transitioned to real firearms by the age of 12 at the latest. With GOD's will, he will be ready to do some real killing for God's favorite country (USA!) by the time he can sneak into the US Marine Corps at 16 years of age.
