Psalms 1-5
Dear friends, today we start Psalms, PRAISE JESUS!!! PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME!!!
Psalms is a book of songs or poems. There are 150 psalms. Most of them were written by David, others were written by whoever was the Korathite choir director at the time.
There are several different styles of psalms in the book of psalms. The morst common are just plain old hymns. But there are also thanksgiving psalms; wisdom psalms; liturgical psalms; and my favorite, imprecatory psalms.
So lets begin (there won't be a "today we get" section in Psalms because it's a song).
Psalm 1
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
Darn right, blessed is the man that doesn't just follow the LORD, but also keeps away from the ungodly! How can you find a man of God, they aren't with the bad people that's how!
You won't find a man who delights in the LORD at a bar, drinking beer; you'll find him at church, or helping at the homeless shelter.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Friends, you may hear about the Liberal Main Stream Media (LMSM) bitching about some of our brothers and sisters in Christ (BICs) on TBN talking about the prosperity gospel. Well, it says in Psalms 1:3, right there that
whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. They aren't pushing a feel good version of the Bible (KJV1611) that says give to God and he'll give back, they say whatever a righteous man does will WIN!
6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Praise Jesus!!!
Psalm 2
1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
Have you ever met a non-raging heathen? I know I haven't. They just haven't found the peace that we True Christians™ have.
4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision.
How can those liberal preachers look themselves in the mirror? The ones who say that bad things aren't from the LORD. When everywhere in the Bible (KJV1611) it says that God makes bad things happen, and then sits there and laughs about it.
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
See, blessed are all they...
Psalm 3
1 Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.
I'm sensing an imprecatory psalm. An imprecatory psalm is one where you pray for bad things to happen to others. Liberal preachers think that there's no place in modern christianity for imprecatory prayer. Kudo's go out to Rev. Dobson's Focus on the Family group Citizenlink: Stoplight, where they offer an imprecatory prayer to call for biblical proportions of rain to fall on that cesspool of filth that is Denver, during Obamanation's speech.
See, imprecatory prayer does have a place in modern society!
4 I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
God hears prayers. He heard when people cried out for rain. He just only listens to the righteous. So if it doesn't rain on Obama, then it's because FOF isn't Godly.
You will see that work "Selah" a bit in psalms... no one really knows what it means. Think of it as a cymbal crash.
8 Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.
If there is no blessing, then they aren't his people.
Psalm 4
3 But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.
Yes, see, right there, God listens to the prayers of HIS people.
4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
Modern preachers will tell you that you can't not sin. If you do the LORD's will, how can you sin?
8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
I ain't afraid of no ghost!
Psalm 5
4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
How true, I am like God in a way; I don't necessarily take pleasure in wickedness, I just sort of do it.
9 For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
Non-christians are the same. Worthless pieces of poop.
10 Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.
They are pro-choice! Drown them in Mile High Stadium!
12 For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
Like a condom.
So what have we learned today?
1. Praying for your enemies to be drowned is biblical.
2. If it happens it's because God loves you.
3. If it doesn't then you are a low life faithless piece of doo-doo.
