Nervous hello -
02-28-2022, 03:59 PM
Hi
Please forgive my nervousness, my husband is supervising me and encouraging me to introduce myself.
I am Kerry and am a little shy, I have three lovely children and a loving husband. We have been married for 10 years and attend an evangelical church in the UK.
My husband has recently discovered the power and rightness of discipline in the home and has been starting to train me in these ways.
I am grateful for the structure and discipline that this provides for me and for our children and am grateful to have found this forum where I hope to find friendship and support.
Yours humbly
Kerry

I found Jesus through Sunday School as a child. Though it feels like I have learned more this last few months about what it means to be a Christian woman than in my other years of life combined. It is probably an obvious one but my favourite verse was always John 3:16.

That is a beautiful verse indeed! Let's look at it in context:
John 3:16-18
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Yes!! Praise God! He loves the world so much, that He will condemn to Hell everyone who doesn't love Him!
This is why we have free will - we can choose to praise the Lord or burn in Hell!

Your nervousness is noted. As long as your husband is supervising you, there really is no problem.

May I be blunt with you, Kerry? Everyone claims to have lovely children, but the world is filled with plain-looking people. There are also a few rugged-uglies out there as well as a notable portion of true freaks. How did they all get here if every parent who ever lived only brought forth "lovely children"? There needs to be a worldwide reckoning on this subject. I'm tired of pretending that some people's children aren't hideous.

The word "evangelical" has been watered down and re-coded in many circles. Can you be more precise about the tenets and practices of your church?

Better late than never, I suppose. I hope that Satan hasn't gotten his hooks into your children already.

An attitude of gratitude is always good. Remember to keep Jesus uppermost in your thoughts and look to the Bible for all of life's answers.
Tithing is also important.
His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.

Thank you for your challenging welcome Lady Handmaiden. My husband is grateful that we have found a place with ladies such as yourself, as am I.
I will try to answer your comments honestly.
Firstly thank you for you grace towards my shyness.
My remarks concerning my children was not really directed towards their looks, though you are correct of course that they are not perfect and present challenges, since my husband has taken more control we are already seeing improvement and we trust God that this will continue.
I would probably go with watered down to be honest, we are a little frustrated as we cannot find a church here that would subscribe to many of the teachings my husband has connected with and where we have found truth. We are talking to another family who hold similar views and perhaps will begin to fellowship with them at some point.
It does feel a little like we have arrived at this place a little late and I am sure that has had some negative effect on the children which we regret. However we are trusting in the Lords redeeming grace and our repentance that it is not too late.
My husbands teaching is invaluable in this and we feel we are already seeing our son find his true place in the world.
We do tithe. I hope you find my answers honest if nothing else and thank you once more for your input.

Thank you Mrs White
I am so glad to have found you. Already there are struggles that these pages have shed light upon for me, and while that has led to some hard decisions and perhaps harder actions, I am increasingly confident that we are on the right path.

You are more than welcome, dear Miss Kerry. We are here to help the lost, the confused, and the anxious newcomers who may now be learning about the glorious Gospel of the .
I am not surprised that you may be having a few struggles. We believe in (and follow closely) the teachings within the blessed . It is most likely that you are just now seeing the Truth, recognizing that it has been absent from your days in your "evangelical" community. Here, we do not use any of those watered-down, popular versions of the Holy Scriptures, and we believe in ALL of the content, from start to finish!

Thank you Mrs. White, my husband has decided that we will no longer administer punishments privately within the family. I recognise his authority to do this from the scriptures, but I am struggling with how to explain this to the children. He and I are both grateful to your threads that have shown us the light on this issue and I feel so bad about my reluctance though it does not feel rebellious.
I am so grateful for the advice and support I have already received from the righteous ladies here.

On that subject if anyone can offer any advice on how to explain to my daughters that momma needs to be punished it would be massively appreciated, feeling a little out of my depth.

Maybe it would help if you stopped obsessing on the subject?...
Please remember that Christianity is not some sort of BDSM thing. Christianity is about bringing souls to Jesus - because the alternative, as I shown you in my previous post, is eternal damnation in Hell.

That's a good time to stop digging. Young lady, what's the real problem here? Why are you bothering the flock with repetitious questions that you could easily research yourself? Tell us more about your personal situation - are things happy at home? Say stuff that ladies like to talk about, I can't keep stepping in to help.

Periods? I would like to hear about nice recipes. Good food. My bread turned out nice btw. As did the chicken stir fry to go with it.
Jeremiah 6:21 Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.
Best wishes for the people in Ukraine.

And ladies having free will is why you need to be supervised by your husbands or fathers. Look how things turned out when, in the Garden of Eden, Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil! Women simply can't be trusted to get these things right.
Welcome, Kerry. I think you'll fit in beautifully here in God's favorite forum.

Please forgive me if I seem obsessed. It is certainly not usually the case I would be obsessed with anything other than being honouring to God and my family.
To be honest I probably am a little overwhelmed with the new things I am learning and just these past few hours visiting your site have shown me fresh truth and that my husband is not alone in his beliefs and how he feels we should live.
I would never want to cause anyone to stumble so will continue to plough this furrow alone while being grateful to be able to read all your thoughts on a variety of Godly issues.

Thank you for your sage advice Dr. Toole, and please know I accept and take note of your chastisement.
We are navigating some changes at home while also raising a teenage boy and two pre-teen girls.
As my husband has taken much more seriously his role as the head of our house, I have found it to be a struggle, but also that I am thriving in the new dynamic. A wise lady suggested it was better late than never and I agree with her.
We are very happy and hope and pray that this will increase as we bring our home more in line with his teaching.
I am particularly enjoying baking and am teaching our two girls this skill, I am also finding great satisfaction in doing more cleaning and more housework finding it very affirming.

Hello, welcome to Landover. There is every piece of good information we need in The Bible. Sometimes people claim they have a private revelation and I'm not saying that's impossible but whatever's revealed, assuming it comes from God, will not contradict what He's already explained.
The idea is not to deviate away from the narrow path described by Jesus. In this, we're assured, we will be assisted and—where necessary—comforted by The Holy Spirit active in the world today.
I Timothy 4:1-3 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. Such an encouraging sentence. Do you have any good recipes?

THank you for your encouragement it is gratefully received.
I have many recipes though I am learning to focus on those favoured by my husband and son.
My son is particularly fond of a lemon drizzle cake that his friends mom makes. For a long tome i resisted his requests to get this recipe and learn to make it. I am feeling led to repent of this and intend to learn this recipe and add it to my list.
I wonder if the is a forum here for the ladies to mentor one another in Godly living, or if it is just spread throughout the forums?
