Grand Theft Auto 4: Murder Simulator to be released on Tuesday! -
04-28-2008, 02:24 AM
Brace yourselves, True Christians, for this game is pure evil! I have researched this game at the risk of my innocence, and I have learned that this game is not suitable for ANYONE!
The game features as the main character an immigrant who has come to the real Liberty City seeking a new start. As we all know, however, that most immigrants are blood-thirsty criminals, and that they come here to suck on the hind teat of hard working Americans such as you and me. The character in this game is no different. As you can expect from an immigrant, he goes on to lead a life of crime, committing such acts as theft, battery, and even MURDER.
Yes, ladies and gents, this game is a murder simulator. You go around the game killing people with guns, grenades, rocket launchers, and even fists. I know the opponents of the facts that I have laid out in this post will say stupid things like, "Well, I've played violent video games since I was 5, and I didn't turn out to be a murderer." I would reply to that by saying that you haven't murdered anyone yet, and there is still plenty of time if you keep playing games like this one.
How many real-life murders will this game produce? How many lives will be destroyed as a result? Will this nation ever be free of the violence that comes as a result of games such as Grand Theft Auto IV?

Of course, if my brother was one of the cops you tried to kill in the game, you'd be saying the game is "Godly!"

I don't remember anyone suggesting that your brother the 'officer' be 'offed'. That's a libelous accusation. Do you have any evidence to back that up?
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Your brother is an ex-meter maid. I don't think they put meter maids in those ultra violent games, much less former meter maids.
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:
Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

I'm suprised that Jack Thompson has'nt filed a lawsuit against Rockstar for the release of GTA IV. Then again, Jack Thompson is pretty much hated by everyone on the internet.
And probably by you guys too, considering that he's an attorney, he's probably Jewish too.

Actually, he's a Christian. And personally, I think he is doing a good thing by fighting against the violent video game menace.

You might be wrong, pastor Ezekiel. I fear that meter maids are a cheap target for the protagonist in this game. You even get points for taking out meter maids who are ticketing the cars of other NPCs (non player characters). While it might be satisfying to imagine the elimination of meter maids for many, Rockstar still shouldn't be promoting it.
How soon until some unruly teenagers kill a meter maid and the whole thing gets blamed on GTA4? Who will be held responsible, the parents or the video game producer?
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

I was wondering if anyone has done any research to show how many of The Lord's Commandments the game breaks? (I would suggest that for a properly brought up Christian child, the first one would be "Honor thy father and thy mother, as there is clearly dishonor in any association with this degenerate trash.)

Doesn't it break all of them? Isn't that the point of playing the game?
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

I suspect there will be more gamers here to complain about GTA. You kids should watch this video to see that there is more than one group who is against video games:
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 4: Murder Simulator to be released on Tuesda -

Hi there.
I will start off by putting this plainly and simply: I am a Christian.
And i will start off by saying this even simpler: Leave Grand Theft Auto alone.
You cannot say that those who play this series of games are sinners, as we are not commiting these acts in real life, we are simulating them.
Onto the violence. I'm going to bring up a few examples here; Saw series, Nightmare on Elm street series, Friday the 13th series.
These are movies. These are real people who appear to be harmed using CGI, and yet you are more bothered by a video game.
No one is making you play these games, and this goes to you, as well as Jack Thompson, and anyone else who is against these games.
And as for it affecting minors, it is the parents choice whether or not their children plays these games.
R* (Rockstar, creator and publisher of the Grand Theft Auto series) have brought thousands of hours of joy to their customers with games such as, Grand Theft Auto, The Warriors and Bully (or Canis Canem Edit).
It is not your, or anybody elses right to try and ban these games from the public domain. You simply have a different opinion to us in the GTA community.
You would do better to leave it alone, and never mention it, as you (the church as a whole) and others are simply giving yourself a bad name within the tens of millions of people who play and enjoy these games.
Look instead, at movies, violence in real life, not video games, how can you compare 3d moving images to walking up to someone and shooting them.
I've been playing these games since i was 14 and have never harmed anyone, nor thought about it.
The games cannot be blamed for any action taken by an individual, as at the end of the day, it is a game.
Yes, in the game you kill people.
Yes, in the game you can pay prostitutes for their services.
Yes, in the game you can kill policemen.
No, you cannot in real life, and playing a game will not affect this.
I hope you at least read this, and that it at least makes you understand that not everybody who plays these games are psychopaths and alike.
Thanks for reading,
Liam.

Molineax, you're comletely right. I used to watch my brother play Doom when I was 3, and I turned out fine. So did he, as a matter of fact. He's currently in the Marines (Ooh-rah!) and just got back from Iraq.

GTA4 is going to be the source of all kinds of crimes, the least of which is not going to be shoplifting the damn game.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

I'll take that with a pinch of salt from a member of a forum which thinks that PETA turns kids gay.
And btw? June 15th? The game comes out tomorrow so i suggest you fail less.
