Oct. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Ted Turner, the cable television pioneer who became one of the richest Americans, recalls the pain of losing his job at Time Warner Inc., his wife, the actress Jane Fonda, and $7 billion of his fortune.
“It was like having my heart ripped out,” Turner said yesterday in an interview in New York. The founder of Turner Broadcasting System and the 24-hour cable news channel CNN, Turner said that he has “a couple billion” dollars left, including $700 million in Treasury

Turner said he has learned to live with less, yet he still bemoans the decline in his net worth.
“To drop out of that league, that was hard to do,” Turner said. “I’ve had the experience of being on top and riding the roller coaster down again, nearly to the bottom. You know, if you economize and don’t buy new airplanes or long-range jets, or that sort of thing, you can get by on a billion or two.

This is what Obamafication of America means; no new private 767s to shuttle you around, no wiping your behind with wads of hundred dollar bills and say good bye to the second yacht. People like Turner have worked hard all their lives and there dreams weren't too much; prize wife, the right to decided who the next president would be and some small third world country for a vacation get away. Now, the dream is over.

For Americans like Turner it is shut, up sit down and get to work in the board room and take your billion and like it punk. What a sad a dreary that day is for all of us. This is Russia in 1917 all over again.

You know I hate to do this, but it just reminds me so much of what happened when Hitler came to power in Germany. People like to talk as if it's not a valid comparison, but the fact of the matter is that it could not be more apropos. Did you know that Hitler came to power in the same way Obama did, and everyone was dancing in the streets? And now, one step at a time, he is eroding our freedoms. I bet Obama "gets off" on seeing a once-proud man, able to pay his bills with just enough left over to maintain a fleet of private jets now living in nearly abject poverty. Where does it end? This is the figurative murder of a man, ripping the rug out from under his feet. Next step: herding successful Americans into the showers. It's sickening but it's the reality that we're in.

Sad but true words brother. It is only a matter of time before the commissars show up and form their industry collectives were markets and profits are allocated. Gone are the days were a rich man was a free man in America.
