Hello to all, May God Be With You!!! -
04-06-2009, 04:01 AM
I am brother Peregrine, a lost soul among a world of sinners, trying to find his way back into the light. In my current environment, I cannot find men of God, and so I took to the internet to find them. I stumbled upon your page and after reading a few of the threads, I thanked God that He had shown me a way into His favor by leading me with His disciples. I am new here, but I hope I can find acceptance among my fellow Christians here at the Landover Baptist Church Forums.
God be with you--

Welcome, Peregrine.
Why not tell us a bit about yourself? For example, how long have you known Jesus, and on what level of intimacy? Do you have any favorite Bible verses or stories?

Well, I am not acquainted with the lord at all for the most part... I have only read of him, yet never felt him in my heart.
I actually have a question for you. I found the below quote on an athiest forum ( http://forum.objectivismonline.net/i...showtopic=8582) And just wanted to ask you if all of that was true. I am just starting the bible and trying to find Jesus. I was raised without any true religious contact in the hills of northwestern Virginia... for the most part alone in a decrepit cottage with my philosophizing father. He never read me the bible or anything like that, merely educated me and prepared me for higher schooling. He died just a few months ago and I've been on a spiritual journey since then, trying to come to terms with the Christ I never knew...
In any event, here is the post... I don't know what to make of it, I am very confused and I'm looking for someone to help me decipher the discrepencies in the Bible... A true theologian to educate me.

Welcome to our forum, my little wandering raptor. I didn't click on your atheist link, as I know it would be pointless. We get all the solace we need from the King James Bible, v.1611.
Also, and this is a small point really. On this True Christian™ forum, we capitalize all references to God and the Bible. I highlighted your errors above. You don't need to retype the post, just do us and Jesus the courtesy of not making the same errors in any of your posts from now on.
And again, welcome!

Objectivism?
Dear friend, are you going to believe God Almighty and His favorite church, or are you going to believe the devotees of some russkie atheist harlot who babbled on about "reason" and "reality" when not committing adultery with her acolyte/boy toy? Miss Rand, unlike Our Lord Jesus Christ, did not temporarily sacrifice herself to herself for your sins; instead, she will spend eternity bobbing up and down in the lake of fire while demons read her own writings to her.
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

2. Apparently so.
3. God executed the people of Sodom and Gomorrah for being wicked perverts. They wanted to gang-rape angels! And why He chose salt when He EXECUTED (God cannot murder, He determines who dies and when, and let's face it, He will eventually kill you, too) Lot's wife for disobeying His direct order, only He knows.
4. So?
5. Um, no, she's not.
6. A test of Abraham's faith is for Abraham's benefit, not God's.
7. So?
8. Again, so?
9. Reading comprehension isn't your friend's strong suit, huh? The men were all executed the day after they were circumcised; Dinah never married her rapist.
10. So? Sex is for procreation, not for fun.

How about someone who can read? It doesn't take much. There are no discrepancies here.

Those are accounts are true friend and the only reason they seem odd or even crazy is you just don't have enough faith in God. There are no discrepancies in The Bible, only in people who read it.

I read a few of those 2nd grade essays on the site and failed to see anything wrong with any of them save for one thing. The poster has never read a bible nor does he understand the ways of The Lord.
I am not going to explain them all as this would be to cast pearls before swine. I will allow you, however to post one of those alleged “points” here. The condition is that if I answer it you ante-up $10 through Paypal (button at bottom.)
I suggest you accept, put your money where your mouth is and I will trust in The Lord.
