I saw a documentary in which a person had an actual tube of flesh where the tail would be, it had nothing to do with the tailbone.

BTW, there are no "vestigal" organs. It's now known that the appendix has many uses and the whole concept and definition is fraught with flawed logic and woolly thinking. In fact the concept of vestigal organ is based on the presumption of evolution to start with.

Indeed, thay may be the cause, but if drugs or alchohol taken by the mother are the cause of the deformation, then we can rule out that "god" is cursing the child.
