Jesus Camp! Are your kids going?

Last night, I watched the delightful documentary, Jesus Camp. Truly, this training ground for tomorrow's soldiers for Christ is just the sort of thing Landover needs! Let me tell you about it!

The documentary opens with a False Christian radio personality. He pops up all throughout the film, saying horrifically cruel things about Evangelical/Fundamentalist Christians. Oh, they're taking over the world. Oh no, 25% of Americans are Evangelical. Oh dear, 75% of home-schooled kids are Evangelical. They follow the Bible, instead of following Jesus. They preach hatred and intolerance, not John 3:16. They put "sleeper" Christians in positions of power throughout the country, and will come "like a thief in the night" one day.

Basically, his running commentary is all the same things we here at LBC hear from False Christians every day. So, enough about him . . . I just wanted to warn viewers that disturbing rhetoric like this is sprinkled throughout the film.

Aside from the filmmakers' obvious anti-religious and political views, the film follows the experiences of a few young soldiers for Christ as they prepare for and attend the Kids on Fire youth camp in North Dakota.

Early on, some of the kids are shown at their church, engaged in a worshipful performance art piece. Declaring themselves the most important generation, they sing about bringing the Lord back within their lifetimes and capturing the world for Christ. The boys, dressed in camouflage with face paint, and the girls, in black with black face paint (marks, not blackface!), exhort the audience to speak the Word of the Lord! Truly, it was a beautiful sight to see, young people interested in the arts.

The filmmakers follow the kids home; they're from two different families. Both mothers are homeschoolers, and they spend a little time showing the mothers teaching their children. Thank God, the mothers have the sense to teach their children how the false religion, Science, doesn't prove ANYTHING, and how stupid evolution is. One mother begins lessons by having her children (all five of them!) say the Pledge of Allegiance . . . to the Christian Flag, and then to the Bible. Her children may be taught to love God and Country, but we know which comes first! GLORY!

A trip to the bowling alley follows. One of the girls is seen practicing her reading, on a Jack Chick Bible tract! Not the very best bowler, she is shown fervently praying before her turn that Jesus will "make this a good one". Finally, she commands the ball to hit the pins in Jesus' name, and throws a gutter ball. How beautiful that she learns that sometimes the answer to a prayer is NO!

This same girl later walks up to a bleached-blonde harlot at the bowling alley, presenting her with a Chick tract and telling her, in her own shy and halting manner, that God spoke to her, and told her that He had a special plan for this woman. Wonderful!

There's so much wonder in this film, and we haven't even gotten to camp yet!

BUT YES! We do go to camp, but not before Becky, the camp leader and a youth minister, comes to their church to hold a prayer meeting for kids. (I'm pretty sure that, since she's only preaching to children and not men, it's OK . . .) During this meeting, children (up to age 12 or thereabouts, but including some very young) are called upon to raise their hands if they believe in Jesus. A very thoughtful mother raises her toddler's hand for him, then elbows her older (5 or 6?) son and motions to him to also raise his hand.

That's a mother who wants her children to go to Heaven!

At camp later, some of these same children will be taught to recognize that they're full of nasty dirty sins, and that they must control those horrible urges! As many of them begin weeping with guilt, knowing how much they've disappointed Baby Jesus, Becky will demand that they speak their sins aloud for all to hear. Truly, confession is good for the soul!

While at camp, the kids are exhorted to become Warriors for Christ, and told that they are the generation that will take back America! They are given training about abortion, and told how 15 million babies never got a chance to live the special lives God had planned for them that year because selfish mothers aborted them. As a special field trip, the kids get to go to a pro-life rally in DC, where they wear red tape with the word LIFE across their mouths! Indeed, children should be seen and not heard!

Late in the film, the documentarians show a visit with our old friend, Brother Ted Haggard. Ted's preaching about the evils of homosexuality at his Megachurch in Colorado Springs. At the time, Ted met with President Bush weekly, discussing the evils of Homosexuality and other sins, and discussing how Evangelicals would vote.

"One of these churches opens every two days in America. When Evangelicals vote," Brother Ted explained, "We decide the election. It's a fabulous life!"

    Indeed, Ted's life was fabulous!

I don't want to spoil the film for you; there's much more packed into that hour and a half, that will teach you all you need to know about Bible camps and the future of America. Yes, this film is a great wake-up call to all the lukewarm Christians in the country; get on the RIGHT side, the WINNING side, GOD'S side. It's also a warning to the False Christians, Jews, Buddhists, atheists, deists, Wiccans, and whatever else is out there . . . America is waking up, and soon EVERY knee shall bend and EVERY head shall bow, for Jesus Christ will be Lord of the United States!

Note: This film is now available for rental.

Re: Jesus Camp! Are your kids going?

Sadly, my children are too old to go to Jesus Camp. I only have two living children. My oldest living son is Aaron Micah Worthington, and my youngest is Joshua Eli Worthington. It wasn't until a year or two later that I realized I saddled Josh with some unfortunate initials.

My first son, Herbert Montague Worthington IV, died at the age of 16 in a bizarre accident. While he and his best friend Skip (they were almost inseperable) were evidently doing some homework for the Greco-Roman wrestling team and waiting for their underwear to get out of the dryer, they accidentally shot each other at the same exact time and spilled mineral oil all over their bodies. What are the odds?

When I first saw the trailer for this documentary, I was overcome with joy. I have become increasingly saddened by the ways of the movie-making industry, and, in fact, had gotten to the point that the mere mention of the word "documentary" conjured images of a fat, hairy man with jowls that swine are envious of. Imagine my surprise when I found that a factual documentary was being made!

The only reason that "sleeper" Christians exist is because it is becoming increasingly dangerous to be one these days! The persecution never ends! The homosexual agenda is becoming so violent these days that we cannot even walk down the street without some fancily-dressed man trying to slide his perfectly manicured, lotioned hands down our backsides. As sad as it is, sometimes it is safest for the weaker Christians amongst us (specifically, the women-folk) to keep their faith between God, their husband and themselves, so that the Devil will have fewer occasions to attack their already tenuous grasp on Salvation.

I am sure that these lines were added by the editors in an attempt to undermine the message of the documentary. But in the larger picture, at least we finally got a semi-factual documentary out on the market, to at least to try to shine our Light on the rest of the world!

This is just inspiring to see. Now the liberal media doesn't show this, they're too busy yapping about how the Army has fallen short of its recruiting goals, etc, etc. True Christian women are pumping out soldiers for Christ at the fastest rate I've seen in recent years! Imagine this youngster's joy in 10 years, when he signs his military papers and ships off to Iraq to stand up, in preparation for the Iraqis to follow suit. What joy to be able to see George Bush's plan come to fruition, when he has seen the whole of the master battle plan throughout his life. I can only wish that I didn't have this ingrown hair, that I might also feel this joy. What worries me is that the girls are wearing black -- perhaps this is Satan's small and seemingly insignificant way of converting them to Emo-tards? Even the strongest of Christians are sometimes tempted! Perhaps we should warn them.

Perhaps this is God's way of encouraging her to stop playing boys' sports and to get back to sewing or knitting or something more suited to her. But reading Chick tracts just fills me with warmth -- what better way to learn to read than on the little pieces of paper that bring the Light of Heaven to the darkest places here on earth.

While I wish that this girl had asked her father to do this for her, to prevent her from any potential harm, the intent is surely admirable. Perhaps this little girl will one day grow to be as beatiful, smart and adored as the Ann Coulter is today -- imagine that!

If they think that these 15 million babies (15 followed by six zeros!) are a lot of lost souls, imagine their shock when they find out how many babies EACH YEAR are sent straight to Hell because of the sinful "birth control" practices that are infiltrating our schools. Each day, millions upon millions of potential converts are cut off, literally suffocated, before they even have the chance to accept Jesus' Loving Offer.

I apologize for being off topic, but Mr. Worthington I do most sincerely hope that all has worked out well for you, who I know loves the Lord with all his heart. I trust that Jesus has comforted you in your loss. I surely hope that your son was covered in a Godly Life Insurance policy.

I'm sure that he's not an old friend, since he recently admitted to a gay relationship and trying meth.

And no Jesus Camp for me, I'm going to Canada.

Perhaps you should look up Ted Haggard.

As head of the National Association of Evangelicals -- the country's leading False Christian group -- until his little 'mishap', Haggard met with President Bush on a weekly basis.
