  • Perez hilton ruins Christian's life. Pray for Carrie Prejean

What happens when you exercise your right to free speech and religion? You are humiliated and disgraced and stripped of a crown that was yours!!!

During Sunday night's competition, Prejean was asked by openly gay celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, a judge in the pageant, if she felt all states should move toward allowing same-sex marriage.
She said, "I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman ... that's how I was raised." Besides setting off a firestorm of pro- and con-gay-marriage/freedom-of-speech twittering and blogging, the remark was widely believed to have cost her the crown. It also prompted Hilton to later post a nasty and unprintable rant about her on his massively popular Web site!!!!!
"I was ready for my question, and when I heard it from (Perez), I knew at that moment after I'd answered the question, I knew that I was not going to win because of my answer," she said. "Because I had spoken from my heart, for my beliefs and for my God. ... It's not about being politically correct, for me, it's about being biblically correct."
Earlier in the day Prejean went on MSNBC's morning show, where she was asked about Hilton's attack on her.
"I can only say to him that I will be praying for him. I feel sorry for him, I really do," Prejean said. "I think he's angry, I think he's hurt.

That is a great young lady and I say we give her the Miss Landover crown!
She won't return my e-mails, but we need to pray for her and let her know we all stand behind her and in our hearts, she is Miss America!!!
And in fact she is Miss Landover!!!
    Matthew:
5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled
10:21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Re: Perez hilton ruins Christian's life. Pray for Carrie Prejean

    Carrie,

Hi, this is Wash O'Hanley. I'm a pretty big radio pundit and local television hero in Iowa and I'm here to give you some advice from one figure in the public eye to another. Radio pundits often say things that get blown out of proportion and made fun of publicly just like you've had your words publicly scrutinized this past week.

A lot of people have made what you've said an issue, something political, and in a way that isn't fair. This was a beauty pageant and you were asked an inherently political question. I just want to be the first person to come to your side and let you know that it isn't your fault. Don't listen to these people because they're all wrong.

A lot of people have probably told you that you have a right to your opinions and that there is nothing wrong with having your beliefs. These people are wrong. Regardless of what anyone tells you-- whether it is someone that you are a close friend with, someone you've never met, your parents or your pastor-- being opposed to same sex marriage DOES make you a bigot. You do not get to mask your bigotry behind a 2,000 year old book and somehow have it not be bigotry. You are a bigot for the things that you said on national television and people are right to make fun of you for it.

A lot of people have come forward in your defense this week to say that what you said wasn't wrong, but as it happens, they are also bigots. In fact, anyone that likes you is probably a bigot. You have been surrounded by bigots your entire life. You said that you were raised to believe what you said on that stage without the slightest hint of irony, as if everything your parents ever taught you were inherently true. I'm also here to explain to you that just because your parents taught you something does not mean it is true. Parents do not have to pass an IQ test to procreate-- in fact, most people that procreate probably couldn't pass an IQ test. Bigots procreate more than any other demographic because there aren't a lot of us out there and we are kind of pitiful people. Unlike people that aren't bigotted that get kicks out of going to craft fairs and farmers markets, bigots like to warp young children's minds. The bigot's favorite past time is sitting his or her son down and teaching them all of the messed up things that they believe. Why do you think that nearly 90% of the homeschoolers out there are bigots?

But before I go any further I think I should explain the context of the word "bigot". A lot of bad people have used the word "bigot" to make people like you and me look bad. "Bigot" isn't a bad word, a naughty word, a hurtful word. Bigot is empowering, and it reminds us of our past. Have you ever wondered why black people can say the "N" word but when I call Bernie Mac that word the day after he died on my show I get slapped with a hefty FCC fine? Bigot is a disgusting and hurtful word used against people like you and I just because we hate certain people for little to no reason. But when you turn that term around on its head it loses its power, but enables us to never forget the challenges that our bigoted ancestors faced.

Bigots carry many burdens, the greatest of which is being made fun of. But not only in your own time will you be made fun of. Because your bigotry was caught on tape and is now on youtube. Mass media has always been the greatest enemy of the bigot and the portable cell phone camera is our arch nemesis. Your bigotry is going to last through the ages. Like our grandfathers that were filmed standing up to the injustice of equal rights for black people and are now used for stock footage in Civil Rights documentaries-- you too are going to be laughed at repeatedly in 40-50 years. Some day gays are going to have the same rights as heterosexuals regardless of how hard people like you and I publicly embarass ourselves on national television crying about it. And when those gays have the same rights as us there are going to be documentaries made about their struggles (probably made by gay people) and footage of you on that stage at the Miss USA Pagaent is going to be shown and people are going to laugh at you just like they laugh at the people that protested James Meredith at his first day of school at Ole' Miss.

Stand strong, Carrie, and never let the hate out of your heart.

    Sincerely,
Washburn 'Big Tex' Rutherford O'Hanley III aka Wash O'Hanley

Re: Perez hilton ruins Christian's life. Pray for Carrie Prejean

Thank goodness that now that the babbling of the red media has died down, a groundswell of National Support is swelling beneath the much wronged Carrie "Miss California" Prejean for her brave stance condemning gay "marriage" on national television.

Some of the statements in this article are far too leftist radical, but the writer's basic point is, I think, on the nose.

      http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/04/carrie_prejeans_koufax_moment.html

Carrie Prejean's Koufax Moment by Bruce Walker
Carrie Prejean, Miss California and the runner up in the Miss USA Pageant, was asked a question about her view of marriage. She recited what her faith believed -- marriage is between a man and a woman -- and as a consequence she may have lost the title of Miss USA. What Ms. Prejean had was a Koufax Moment or, perhaps, a Myerson Moment.

Sandy Koufax was one of the greatest baseball pitchers of all time. His persona was nice, serious, and mild. Baseball was his game, and he did not go around preaching to other people. Koufax was also Jewish. In 1965, Sandy Koufax led the Dodgers to the World Series. The first game of the series was on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish year. Any major league baseball pitcher would have loved to be the first pitcher for his team in the World Series, and that certainly included Sandy Koufax. But if that meant violating the greater spiritual fidelity which Koufax felt as a Jew, then he would not play. He did what he, not public opinion, thought was right.

When Bess Myerson competed in the Miss America Pageant, the easy thing to do would have been to conceal her Jewishness. Why not change "Myerson" to something less ... provocative? She, of course, did not. Like Prejean, Myerson faced hatred because of her faith, but today all but the narrowest of minds and tiniest of hearts see that not running from her Jewishness was courageous and good. Then, perhaps a less bigoted era, Bess Myerson earned and won the title of Miss America.

When Carrie Prejean answered honestly the question put to her, she had her Koufax Moment. When she refused to renounce her faith to please the mob, she had her Myerson Moment. Carrie no more wanted to be asked about her concept of marriage than Sandy wanted the first game of the World Series to fall on Yom Kippur. She was simply forced to choose between what she thought was right and what the Hollywood crowd wanted her to say.

Some people may have thought Koufax wrong for placing faith about his team or above the game of baseball. Some people may have thought Myerson foolish for not adapting a less obviously Jewish name. Some people may have though Prejean wrong for placing faith about the Miss USA Pageant or the sensibilities of gay couples. If Koufax and Myerson offended us for living lives as Jews, and if Prejean offends us for living life as a Christian, then we are in thrall to a sickening evil.

Sandy Koufax, Bess Myerson, and Carrie Prejean did not choose to fight religious wars. All they asked was to be able to compete in the mainstream of American life without having nasty haters mutilate their opportunities. They asked simply to be faithful to their faith. Should major league baseball have punished Sandy Koufax for spoiling the World Series? Should Bess Myerson have been denied the Miss America Crown because she was Jewish? Surely forcing Koufax or Myerson to sell their Jewishness at the price of competing fairly in America would have been wrong. Just as surely, asking Prejean to sell her Christianity (or instructing Prejean that her version of Christianity was improper) as the price of competing fairly in America is just as wrong.

Eric Liddell, one of the two remarkable runners portrayed in the magnificent film, Chariots of Fire, would not run in an Olympic event that was held on Sunday, this devout Christian's Sabbath. Liddell, like Koufax, was prepared to sacrifice something that he had worked his whole life to reach for something he held greater than any prize that man could give. Liddell, like Prejean, would not twist his Christianity into something that pleased the crowd.

If we are wise, then we will see that Eric Liddell was right to follow his conscience. If we are good, then we will grasp that Bess Myerson was honorable in honoring her people. If we seek tolerance, then we will bless Sandy Koufax for placing his faith above his fame. And if we care about a future of peace, justice, and love, then we will applaud Carrie Prejean for saying what she thought was right, whatever the cost.

Beyond that, we must say that the haters of old are the haters of now. The bigots who disparaged Myerson are the bigots who mock Prejean. The narrow minds and narrower hearts who cannot endure different beliefs to speak an honest opinion are the true enemies of real tolerance.

I might be belaboring the obvious here, but whose bright idea was it to have a gay (Perez Hilton) judging a "Miss America" beauty contest anyway? I mean this wasn't a "Miss Lezbean America" contest; this is about good old hetero Christian American pulchritude. If anything Perez Hilton should be laboring behind the scenes designing gowns, bathing suits or something equally useful.

I bet he was doing double-duty that night, demanding to be up at the judges table if he was going to be donating his hair and makeup skills backstage.

They were probably afraid he'd file some "discrimination" lawsuit if they didn't give into his demands.

Well that's what happens when you hold those things in Hellywood, where half the queers in California live.

If they really wanted to be fair, they should hold that contest in a Red State, where real Americans live.

As beauty pageant officials and gay-rights advocates increase the pressure on Miss California USA to back off her controversial comments opposing same-sex marriage, Carrie Prejean is not retracting them. Instead, she’s digging in her spike heels and fighting back.

“I was attacked for giving my own opinion on the stage of the Miss USA contest. And I’m going to do whatever it takes to protect marriage. It’s something that is very dear to my heart,” Prejean told TODAY’s Matt Lauer Thursday in an exclusive interview from Washington, D.C.

The first runner-up in the Miss USA pageant was in the nation’s capital to help the National Organization for Marriage launch a campaign against same-sex marriage. And she wasn’t wearing her pageant smile.

“I’m just here to protect marriage,” she reiterated. “The National Organization for Marriage basically just respects marriage and people who support it. That’s what I’m here to do today — to protect traditional marriage.”

                        Focus of firestorm
While not attacking her views, the Miss California USA pageant organizers have blistered Prejean for using the pageant stage to promote her political and religious views. “In the entire history of Miss USA, no reigning title holder has so readily committed her face and voice to a more divisive or polarizing issue,” the organizers said in a statement issued to the media. “We are deeply saddened Carrie Prejean has forgotten her platform of the Special Olympics, her commitment to all Californians, and solidified her legacy as one that goes beyond the right to voice her beliefs and instead reveals her opportunistic agenda.”

The 21-year-old Prejean became the focus of what has become an international firestorm during the April 19 Miss USA pageant. In the interview segment of the competition, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, who is openly gay, asked Prejean for her views on legalizing same-sex marriage. “I think it's great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage,” she said. “And you know what? I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised.”

Dirty homo coward hiding behind a fake name Perez Hilton
                        TODAY
Celebrity blogger and Miss USA pageant judge Perez Hilton asked Carrie Prejean her views on same-sex marriage — and got an earful. On his blog the next day, Hilton called Prejean a vulgar name and said that Miss USA is supposed to help unite Americans, not divide them. He suggested her response may have cost her the Miss USA crown. Besides Hilton, at least two more of the pageant's dozen judges have said Prejean should have given a more politic, if not politically correct, answer to avoid offending anyone, and that it was her lack of tact, not her opposition to same-sex marriage, that ruffled feathers. “I do not fault her for her beliefs. I fault her for her complete lack of social grace, and that's a quality I want my Miss USA to possess,” judge Alicia Jacobs, a former Miss Nevada, wrote on her blog.

                        Hero’s welcome
Joining the assault on Prejean is Miss USA 1995 Shanna Moakler, who told “Access Hollywood” that some six weeks before the Miss USA pageant, Prejean had breast enhancement surgery paid for by the Miss California pageant. An “Access Hollywood” spokesman confirmed the report and claims it has been substantiated. Lauer and Prejean did not address that question during their interview.

                        Miss California: ‘I wouldn’t change a thing’
April 21: Carrie Prejean and Perez Hilton each comment on her controversial reply about same-sex marriage.

One week after the pageant, Prejean, who is a student at San Diego Christian College, was given a hero’s welcome at the Rock Church, an enormous San Diego-area megachurch that claims on its Web site to attract 12,000 worshippers each week. The church’s pastor and founder is former San Diego Chargers defensive back Miles McPherson, who actively campaigned for California’s Proposition 8, a referendum that outlawed same-sex marriages in the state when it narrowly passed in November’s election. “I never thought in a million years that this would be happening right now,” Prejean told Lauer. But she rejected his suggestion that she could have held back on expressing her views until after her reign as Miss California is over. “I think that this is a huge issue right now, and people are very passionate about this issue. I think that regardless of our opinions, we need to respect each other, even when we disagree. It’s all about respect,” she said.

                        International flap
The controversy has reached across the Atlantic to Great Britain, where The Telegraph reported that Alan Duncan, an openly gay member of the House of Commons and a leader in the Tory party, appeared on a satirical BBC news show, “Have I Got News for You.”

Miss USA ‘proud of’ Miss California
April 22: Miss USA, Kristen Dalton, weighs in on Miss California’s controversial comments at the pageant.
                        Today show

“I don't agree with her at all,” he reportedly said, adding in jest: “If you read that Miss California has been murdered, you will know it was me, won't you?” Lauer asked Prejean if she’s gotten any other — and more serious — threats. “Not that I’m aware of. It’s the complete opposite,” she said. “I’ve actually had so many supporters and so many people just saying, ‘Thank you so much. It had to take a beauty pageant contestant to actually stand up for what she believes in. I just want to thank you for that.’ ”

Some pundits have observed that Prejean’s conservative views reflect those of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who also was a beauty pageant contestant as a young woman. Lauer asked Prejean what she thinks of the comparisons to the former Republican vice presidential candidate.

For the first time in the interview, Prejean’s face lit up into a broad smile.
“I think that’s the only comparison — that we were both in a beauty pageant,” she laughed. But, Lauer asked, does Prejean intend to go into politics like Palin? “Definitely not anytime soon, that’s for sure,” Prejean replied.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

10:21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
