Self-Proclaimed 'Antichrist' To Hold Conference In Guatemala

    POSTED: 2:13 pm EDT April 20, 2007
GUATEMALA CITY -- He calls himself the antichrist, wears the number 666 tattooed on his arm and claims a following of 2 million people.Jose Luis de Jesus Miranda says he is coming to Guatemala -- whether the Central American nation wants him or not.

Guatemala and neighboring Honduras and el Salvador have banned the former evangelical priest, arguing he is a security risk because of potential conflicts with Roman Catholic and evangelical groups. But Miranda still plans to fly in on a private jet Saturday to celebrate his 61st birthday and hold a global conference with thousands of followers."It has been predestined and angels will make it happen. He is, after all, God himself," said Axel Poessy, Miranda's media director. If divinity is not enough, Miranda's right-hand man, Carlos Cestero, argues that Guatemala cannot bar U.S. citizens. "He will come and try to enter," he said. The impending showdown is Miranda's latest attempt to rally his followers in Central America. Members of his church, which is based in the Miami suburb of Doral, Fla., have torn up images of saints and other religious symbols in El Salvador, and marched in Guatemala and Honduras.Miranda often takes aim at the Catholic Church, calling all priests child molesters and saying chastity vows go against the Bible's teachings. In Guatemala, Congress labeled him a terrorist and immigration officials have been instructed to refuse him entry to the country. It was not clear, however, if the government would be able to block his private jet from landing.According to Cestero, Miranda has been in Guatemala at least 14 times in the past decade, all before he declared himself the antichrist. He holds a congress of followers every year in a different location in the Americas, and this year his sect settled on Guatemala City. Most followers of Miranda's Growing in Grace church are in Colombia and the Miami area, where they regularly tune in to his Web, television and radio casts. While followers see him as a savior and the next coming of Christ, critics say he is nothing but a dangerous cult leader."What is more evil than all the exorbitant titles associated with him is the power he exercises over his followers," said Daniel Alvarez, an instructor in the department of religious studies at Florida International University who has studied the movement. "He wants attention, shock value, and he's always trying to top what he did before."Miranda, born in Puerto Rico and living in Miami, founded the Growing in Grace church in 1986. He preaches to followers in some 35 nations, mostly in Latin America, and has 287 radio programs and a 24-hour Spanish-language television network. He claims to be a living incarnation of Jesus Christ, and preaches that sin and the devil do not exist. In January, he revealed tattoos of the numbers 666 on his forearm, and announced that he and his followers were antichrists because their sect's beliefs supersede those of Jesus Christ's teachings. According to the Bible, the Antichrist is someone who will fill the world with wickedness but be conquered by a second coming of Christ.Hundreds have followed Miranda's lead by getting "666" tattoos. The number 666 is often associated with the Antichrist or the devil. In a tidy shop in an upscale, Guatemala City neighborhood, 18-year-old Andrea Recinos hunched over as a tattoo artist carved "666" across her back, decorating the number with angel wings."I wanted to show my love to the apostle," she said, referring to Miranda. "I wanted to show the whole world that I am an antichrist."Other followers get "SSS" tattoos, referring to Miranda's motto of "Salvo, siempre salvo," or "Saved, always saved."Cestero said some of the sect's members donate 50 percent to 80 percent of their earnings to Growing in Grace, often in appreciation of the church's message that nothing is sinful."When someone is thankful, they show it by giving a gift, and the people are thankful for the liberty given to them," he said.

He is an anti-Christ, and would be most welcome to visit us in Freehold. It's just a shame about that horrible car accident that he would have on his way in from the airport. Slippery roads, etc.
        Who Will Jesus Damn?

Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

Re: "Anti-Christ to Hold Conference in Guatemala"

(Can a moderator move this to False Religions and Cults, and give it a title about the 666 Cult?)

I don't know what happened to MoonFlower, or if she got sucked into this 666 cult, but its "transformation day" is near . . . June 30, 2012!

A cult called “Growing in Grace International” worships Jose de Luis de Jesus. Mr. JdLdJ uses the number ’666′ to identify himself and his followers, and claims to be the second coming of Jesus Christ.
He has declared that he will be “transformed” June 30 of 2012, along with his followers. Check this one out:
Doris Rosado watches her teenage daughters, Ninette and Kiara Mongrut, get the numbers “666” tattooed on their wrists, beaming with pride. The number typically conjures up biblical symbolism tied to the Antichrist, but this St. Catharines, Ont., family belongs to a obscure Christian sect for which “666” is a positive symbol of their group’s messianic leader.

“They wanted to do it,” Ms. Rosado, 45, said at the St. Catharines tattoo parlour where her daughters were inked. “But now it’s more important because we’re counting down… I’m so proud.”

For this family, and other members of Growing in Grace International, these tattoos are a way of demonstrating their faith as true believers of Jose de Luis de Jesus — who they fervently believe is the second coming of Jesus Christ — before a day of reckoning they believe will wipe out most of humanity.
              But there’s more!
Mr. de Jesus also predicts that the “transformation” will endow him, and his loyal followers, with superpowers, such as the ability to fly and walk through walls, said Axel Cooley, the bishop’s daughter.

“[We can] run and not get tired. Go through fire and not get burned…. I could be talking to you right now, and then I could go through that wall. So, you’ll know there is a difference,” Cooley said.

The global economy will collapse as currency markets “fail” and governments around the world will be forced to resign. These predictions are based on biblical passages, she adds.

“The world’s not going to end. What is going to end is the system…. All the governments and the currencies will fall. The new government of the 666 will take over,” she said.
Growing in Grace has followers in 130 nations around the world.

While I don’t anticipate any apocalypse June 30, is it possible that crazed cultists will attempt an insurrection? It sure sounds that way:
In a video posted on YouTube and on their website, cegenglish.com, Mr. de Jesus called for his followers to enter into the final countdown until, he says, their government will come into power. “A government where we will govern everything with a perfect order. This is my last farewell for you. The time is finished… We will see each other soon in Armageddon.” [Emphasis added.]
Now, the cult is backtracking. "Ana 666" says:

. . . The transformation already occurred for us in our minds, so even if on that exact date our bodies are not transformed (which I receive they will be), it would not matter, it would not be disappointing because He already transformed our minds, and no matter what happens, what is written will be fulfilled!

As it says in 1 Corinthian 15:53-54, “Our bodies will be transformed”.

Now Why would anyone commit suicide? That would be silly…Since we know our true identities, we are perfect gods, we are perfect spirits, and we are blessed with all blessing, healthy and healed from head to toe, and prosperous, no matter what our minds have been transformed, making us the happiest people on the face of the earth, so there’s no need for suicide! Another point I wanted to make clear is that Absolutely no one in growing in grace ministries is selling their properties, quitting their jobs or studies due to the countdown, because the Man Christ Jesus has taught us to walk with our thoughts in order,he taught us that the day should find us “doing so” whether it’s work, school, or owning a business etc. Which is why we continue to keep busy with our priorities in this flesh.

Many Surprises will come over the face of the earth.

I don’t blame any one for mocking the Transformation, It’s not your fault you were not chosen to be “Enlightened”, all I can say Is that soon every eye will see Jose Luis In victory with a transformed body!
Just not on July 1, apparently. Maybe. Or something.

At least this guy is clever enough to tell people not to sell everything and donate it to him . . . so they don't dismember him in their rage. Speaking of which, think that's why Harold Camping is nowhere to be seen? Fear of non-raptured "zombies" coming to tear him limb from limb?

Ana 666 would like you to visit Jose Luis' website at http://www.cegenglish.com.
