Cheaters never prosper, and that was never more true than now!

Ashley Madison is a site for terrible married people who want to cheat on their significant other with a hottie of their choosing. Sounds awful, right?

Well, now they may be getting what's coming to them.

Some hackers broke into the site, stole the customers' personal information, including financial records, and have posted them online! The only way to stop them? There isn't one!

Avid Life Media, the company that runs security for Ashley Madison along with some other similar sites, is just having to take down the pages of exposed private records one by one.

The hackers call themselves The Impact Team, and besides the obvious grossness of Ashley Madison's clients, they also seem upset that ALM netted around $1.7mil by charging their customers $19 to wipe all of their records from their servers. The Impact Team basically wanted to show that the complete erasure can't and didn't happen.

In a manifesto, the hackers said:

"Avid Life Media has been instructed to take Ashley Madison and Established Men offline permanently in all forms, or we will release all customer records, including profiles with all the customers' secret sexual fantasies and matching credit card transactions, real names and addresses, and employee documents and emails. The other websites may stay online … Too bad for those men, they're cheating dirtbags and deserve no such discretion. Too bad for ALM, you promised secrecy but didn't deliver. We've got the complete set of profiles in our DB dumps, and we'll release them soon if Ashley Madison stays online. And with over 37 million members, mostly from the US and Canada, a significant percentage of the population is about to have a very bad day, including many rich and powerful people."

This is clearly a huge and not-okay breach of privacy, but at least it happened to a group of people who think that their harmful secrets can stay in the shadows.

The fact that people think this type of data theft is a good thing without realizing the consequences of this type of hack is disturbing. What do you think will happen with the data? It's not going to be used to directly out cheaters. It will be used by criminals to blackmail them which hurts everyone in the house.

In many cases by the time the divorce comes there won't be anything left. There will be broke broken families, depleted college funds, suicides, and worse. Imagine you're a stay at home wife/husband and you get the news, your spouse is cheating. That has to be a horrible feeling, but then you find out on top of the cheating that all your money is gone because your spouse paid a blackmailer to keep quiet.

Now you're going through a divorce where your spouse was the majority provider and any money that could have made it survivable is gone. I hate when "think of the children" is abused, but it applies here.

The financial damage is going to impact so many people. This is sad not good.... They should be divorced for cheating not blackmailed until the entire family is ruined.

Bill, it sounds to me like you are rationalizing sin. You can always come up with an excuse for any sordid act you can think of. However, that kind of foolishness will not pass muster with God.
Are you a Canadian? We understand that the moral decay in Canada has led to the majority of the adult population being involved in that sin site. I imagine everyone has an excuse. It might be interesting to hear them all. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Canada was destroyed by a great fireball from the heavens over this atrocity.

Is there some sort of award for the most pointless post of the month?

It won't surprise anyone to hear that on this side of the Atlantic, it's mostly women who have been caught. One is a member of the Scottish "parliament" (yes, we allow them to pass their own laws on matters of no importance, like their children's education). Anyway, she is claiming that someone must have signed up in her name. Yes dear, of course they did!

Another is a journalist woman who claims to have signed up in order to write an article about it and says that when she tried to de-register they wanted to charge her about $20, but she was too cheap to pay so she's now on the list.

What do these two vile women have in common? They are doing men's jobs, that's what, in flagrant violation of Titus 2:4-5
