Here's one I recently got from "Abe" (not a joo I hope):
Well Abe, thank you for your question, but I'm pretty sure that you have made a mistake in attributing those comments to me. I seem to recall Brother Bathfire saying something like this not long ago.
As for your question, I'll be happy to address it in a more general way.
There is nothing wrong with the practice of polygamy per se, according to God's Holy Word. In fact there are several examples of Godly Men in the Bible holding multiple wives.
In Exodus 21:10, a man can marry an infinite amount of women without any limits to how many he can marry.
In 2 Samuel 5:13; 1 Chronicles 3:1-9, 14:3, King David had six wives and numerous concubines.
In 1 Kings 11:3, King Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines.
In 2 Chronicles 11:21, King Solomon's son Rehoboam had 18 wives and 60 concubines.
In Deuteronomy 21:15 "If a man has two wives, and he loves one but not the other, and both bear him sons...."
There are a lot more verses from the Old Testament that allow polygamy, but I think that the above are sufficient enough to prove my point.
Now I know that plenty of confused, liberal false Christians will try and tell you that Jesus came to rid us of the Old Testament laws. But I'm here to tell you that they are wrong. For Jesus said:
The only reason that we True Christians do not practice polygamy is that it is prohibited by secular law, and we are commanded to obey whatever the law of the land happens to be. This is the same reason the we refrain from holding slaves as well.
I'd like to add here that many of us are working hard to re-re-elect President Bush, with the goal in mind of ridding God's favorite country of these meddlesome unBiblical laws and re-establishing the Holy Bible as the law of the land.
As for the second part of your question on polyandry, or the practice of women having multiple husbands, God clearly prohibits such a perversion. A few months ago I wrote a piece on this very subject, which can be found HERE.
To summarize, 1 Corinthians 11 shows that a fundamental principle of the Bible is:-
God is the head of Christ
Christ is the head of man
Man is the head of woman.
I think it's pretty obvious that God expects Men to supervise women, and not the other way around.
I hope this answers your question, friend.

Your comment of what the Bible says about polygamy:
It is quite possible to view polygamy as no more than showing appreciation: Let's say you have a dog or a cat and you are so happy with the beast that you decide to buy another - "Quite normal", say you.
Now assume you have a wife and are so happy with her that you decide that you would enjoy another one - well, go and get another one! The first wife will always understand.

My question is:
Are you saying that the same goes for the wife too? For a WIFE to be so happy with her husband that she can go out and get another husband and the first husband will always understand?
Or are you saying that WOMEN are like Gods Animals?
Truly,
Abe...

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Matthew 5:18
